I proclaim my faith.

Mark 8:38

Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their hearts.  (NIV)

Psalm 119:2

The story is told of a Christian brought before a king. The monarch wanted the man to renounce his faith in Jesus Christ. He said to him, “If you do not abandon your faith, I will banish you.” The man replied, “Your majesty, you cannot banish me, since the Kingdom of Christ is not of this world.” To which the king said, “Then I will confiscate all your possessions.”  Then the man said, “My treasure is in heaven, you will not be able to touch it.” The king, grew angrier, said, “My only recourse is to order that they kill you,” and the man responded, “I am dead. I died with Christ, and my life is hidden in him; thereby, you will not be able to touch it.”

How many testimonies have we known or heard of people who maintained firm their faith in Jesus, and have not renounced it even at the cost of their life!

For us Christians, it means that Jesus is our Savior and that we have decided to follow his path. We can testify to that not only with our words, but also with our way of being, our lifestyle and the way we treat others.

Are we willing to defend our faith and our firm belief in Christ despite everything? Despite the mockery, the offenses, the fear of speaking to others, the rejections. Are we still ready?

 

Prayer: Holy and Eternal God, we ask that you grant us strength through Christ Jesus, so that our faith may be cemented and rooted in our lives in such a way that we are able to proclaim that you are the only and true God, the God of eternal life. May we defend our faith in the midst of any circumstance. Amen.

YO PROCLAMO MI FE

Marcos 8:38

Bienaventurados los que guardan sus testimonios, y con todo el corazón le buscan

Salmos 119:2

Se cuenta la historia de un cristiano que fue llevado ante un rey. El monarca queria que el hombre renunciara a su fe en Jesucristo. Le dijo: “Si no abandonas tu fe, te voy a desterrar”. El hombre respondió: “Su majestad no puede desterrarme, pues el Reino de Cristo no es de este mundo.” “Entonces te voy a confiscar todos tus bienes,” dijo el rey. El hombre respondió: “Mis tesoros están en el cielo, usted no podrá tocarlos.” El rey se enojo más y dijo: “Lo único que me queda es ordenar que te maten.” Y el hombre respondió: “Yo estoy muerto. Mori con Cristo y mi vida está escondida en Él . Por lo cual usted no podrá tocarla.”

¡Cuántos testimonios conocemos o hemos escuchado de personas que han mantenido su fe en Jesús firme y no han renunciado a ella aun a costa de sus propias vidas!

Para nosotros los cristianos, significa que Jesús es nuestro Salvador y que hemos decidido seguir su camino. Podemos testificar de eso no solamente con muestras palabras, sino también con nuestra forma de ser, nuestro estilo de vida y el trato que ofrecemos a los demás.

¿Estamos dispuestos a defender nuestra fe y nuestra creencia firme en Cristo a pesar de todo? A pesar de las burlas, muchas veces las ofensas, del miedo de hablarle a los demás, de los rechazos. ¿Seguimos dispuestos?

 

Oración: Dios Santisimo y eterno, te pedimos que nos concedas fortaleza por medio de Cristo Jesús para que nuestra fe sea cimentada y arraigada en nuestras vidas de manera tal que seamos capaces de proclamar que Tú eres el Dios único y verdadero, el Dios de la vida eterna. Que podamos defender nuestra fe en medio de cualquier circunstancia. Amén.
