SHARING THE GOSPEL

Luke 4:38-44

But he said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose.”

It’s undeniable that the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law (we don’t know her name) raised expectations in all the people of Galilee, and  that the widespread desire for healing and his words spoken in a new and hopeful language would call multitudes to follow him. As the sun set, they brought him the sick, and he healed them. The Galileans asked him not to leave there, but he went throughout Galilee knowing that his ministry was to everyone.

At times we want to express our faith in a place, in the Church, in God’s house. At most we say something at home. But Jesus gave the example. The Gospel is for everyone, and the Church (we) have that same goal.

We are all children of God and deserve the grace of the Gospel. The Church’s doors are open to everyone. Our hearts and eyes must be open (empathy) and our hands and feet willing (service); thus the Kingdom of God will be present among us.

 

Prayer: Eternal Father, enlighten your Church so that we may love and serve wholeheartedly. Bless every heart and every person that does your work, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

COMPARTIR EL EVANGELIO

Lucas 4:38-44

Pero Él les dijo, es necesario que también a otras ciudades anuncie el evangelio, porque para esto he sido enviado.

Lucas 4:43

Es innegable que la curación de la suegra de Pedro (no nos ha llegado su nombre) levantó expectativas en la población de toda Galilea, y que el deseo de sanar de muchos y sus palabras dichas con un lenguaje nuevo y esperanzador, llamara a las multitudes a seguirlo. Al ponerse el sol le traian a los enfermos y los sanaba. Jesús recorrió toda Galilea, pero Él sabia que su ministerio era para todos. Y los Galileos le rogaban que no se fuera.

A veces queremos expresar nuestra fe en un lugar, en la iglesia, en el templo. Cuando más, decimos algo en casa. Pero Jesús dio el ejemplo. El Evangelio es para todos, y la iglesia (nosotros) tenemos esameta.

Todos somos hijos e hijas de Dios, y merecemos la gracia del Evangelio. Las puertas del Templo están abiertas a todos, nuestro corazón y nuestros ojos abiertos (empatia) y las manos y pies dispuestos (servicio), asi el Reino de Dios estará presente entre nosotros.

 

Oración: Padre Eterno, ilumina tu iglesia para que podamos amar y servir de todo corazón. Bendice cada corazón y cada persona que hace tu obra, en Jesucristo. Amén.
