TWO BY TWO IN MISSION

Luke 10: 1-12

He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

Luke 10:2 (NRSV)

From the beginnings of the church the custom of going out two by two for mission has endured. For example: Peter and John, Paul and Barnabas, and so it has come to us to visit the sick, to bring spiritual and material help. When we go two by two, those who receive us know that we are the Church doing its work of serving and bringing the Gospel. Our power is in God, our speaking guided by the Holy Spirit. The accompaniment of a sibling strengthens our journey.

If in our congregation there were twenty brothers available and ready for that mission, each day the needed help would come to our community, and they would be able to find problems and needs in the homes who don’t come to church any more.

Truly the harvest is great and the workers foew. Are you ready towork in the vineyard?

 

Prayer: Here I am, Lord. I am ready; send me. Amen.

DE DOS EN DOS LA MISIÓN.

Lucas 10: 1-12

Y les decía: La mies, a la verdad, es mucha, más los obreros pocos, por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies.

Desde el principio de la iglesia, se ha mantenido la costumbre de andar de dos en dos para la misión. Por ejemplo: Pedro y Juan, Pablo y Bernabé y asi ha llegado a nosotros, para visitar enfermos, llevar ayuda espiritual y material. Cuando vamos de dos en dos los que nos reciben saben que somos la Iglesia haciendo su trabajo de servir y llevar el Evangelio. Nuestro poder está en Dios, nuestro hablar guiado por el Espiritu Santo. La compañia de un hermano fortalece nuestro andar.

Si en nuestra congregación hubiera 20 hermanos, dispuestos y preparados para esa misión, cada d ia la ayuda necesaria llegaria a nuestra comunidad, podrian detectarse problemas y vacios en los hogares, que desde el templo no vemos.

En verdad la mies es mucha y los obreros pocos. ¿Estás tú dispuesto a trabajar en la viña?
