LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Luke 11: 33-36

See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.  (NIV)

Luke 11:35

Amid so many blackouts, it seems that life is also turning off. We walk aimlessly, without a beacon, without a guide, all hopes and dreams extinguished. Then, in the midst of the heat and darkness, the light of Christ comes to shine. The light of faith, the light of his word with this reflection from today’s Gospel, where Jesus uses a metaphor to illustrate how we must be light in the midst our world, and the responsibility we have as followers of Christ to reflect the light of his love, grace and truth in everything we do. That is why we cannot let the faith in our hearts go out. We cannot hide it, especially in these times. Jesus encourages us not to be afraid to show our light, to not be afraid to be different, and to live according to the principles and values of the Kingdom of God.

When we allow our light to shine, we not only illuminate our lives, but we also light the way for those who are in darkness. Our testimony can be a source of hope, comfort and guidance for those who are lost and need to find their way to God.

So today, let your light shine, because we all have our own light, and God can use it in extraordinary ways. Place it in a place where it can illuminate others. May your life be a living testimony of God’s love and grace.

 

Prayer: Dear God, we thank you for the light you have put in our lives through Jesus. Help us not to be afraid to show that light. May our words, actions and attitudes reflect your love. Empower us to be light in the midst of darkness for those who need it. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

DEJA QUE BRILLE TU LUZ

Lucas 11: 33-36

Mira, pues, que la luz que en ti hay no sea oscuridad.

Lucas 11:35

En medio de tantos apagones, pareciera que la vida también se nos apaga. Andamos sin rumbo, si faro, sin guía, apagadas todas las esperanzas, y los sueños. Entonces en medio del calor y de las oscuridades, viene a brillar la luz de Cristo, la luz de la fe, la luz de su Palabra con esta reflexión del Evangelio de hoy, donde Jesús utiliza una metáfora para ilustrar cómo debemos ser luz en medio de nuestro mundo y la responsabilidad que tenemos como seguidores de Cristo de reflejar la luz de su amor, gracia y verdad en todo lo que hacemos. Por ello no podemos dejar apagar la fe en nuestros corazones. No podemos esconderla y menos en estos tiempos. Jesús nos anima a no tener miedo de mostrar nuestra luz, a no tener miedo de ser diferentes, y de vivir según los principios y valores del Reino de Dios. Cuando permitimos que nuestra luz brille, no solo iluminamos nuestras vidas, sino que también iluminamos el camino para aquellos que están en la oscuridad. Nuestro testimonio puede ser una fuente de esperanza, consuelo y guía para aquellos que están perdidos y necesitan encontrar el camino hacia Dios. Así que hoy deja que tu luz brille, porque todos tenemos luz propia y Dios puede usarla de maneras extraordinarias. Colócala en un lugar donde pueda iluminar a los demás. Que tu vida sea un testimonio vivo del amor y la gracia de Dios.

 

Oración: Querido Dios, te agradecemos por la luz que has puesto en nuestras vidas a través de Jesús. Ayúdanos a no tener miedo de mostrar esa luz. Que nuestras palabras, acciones y actitudes reflejen tu amor. Capacítanos para ser luz en medio e la oscuridad para aquellos que lo necesitan. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.
