YOU MIGHT BE THE GOOD SAMARITAN

Luke 10: 25-37

The parable of the Good Samaritan teaches us a profound lesson about love and compassion toward others.

The priest and the Levite represent the religious people who, despite knowing the law and having a privileged position, showed no compassion toward the wounded man. On the other hand, the Samaritan, despite being considered an enemy by the Jews, showed love and care toward that man in need. How many Samaritans have reached out to us? How many times have we been the wounded man, the priest, the Levite or the Samaritan?

Life puts us in the place of each of the characters. We have been there in everyone’s shoes. But the most important thing is to always try to imitate the attitude of the Good Samaritan. Many times, we characterize–or are characterized–as being very human people. Much humanity resides in those who care about the well-being and suffering of others and act altruistically, seeking to help and support those in need. And if the Samaritan in the parable had something left over, it was humanity.

Today we need the humanity of Jesus and the altruism of the Good Samaritan. May difficulties and worries not take away from our hearts the desire to help others. With little or with a lot, with everything or with nothing, let us always remember to do good without looking at who.

 

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times I have been indifferent and insensitive to the needs of others. Help us to be like the Good Samaritan, willing to love and help those who are in need. May your Spirit fill us with love and compassion that only comes from you. In the name of Jesus we ask you, Amen.

EL BUEN SAMARITANO PUEDES SER TÚ

Lucas 10: 25-37

La parábola del buen Samaritano nos enseña una lección profunda sobre el amor y la compasión hacia los demás.

El sacerdote y el levita representan las personas religiosas que a pesar de conocer la ley y tener una posición privilegiada, no mostraron compasión hacia el hombre herido. Por otro lado, el samaritano, a pesar de ser considerado un enemigo por los judios, demostró amor y cuidado hacia aquel hombre necesitado. l,Cuántos samaritanos nos han tendido la mano? l,Cuántas veces hemos sido el hombre herido, el sacerdote, el levita o el samaritano?

La vida nos pone en el lugar de cada uno de los personajes. Hemos estado alli en los zapatos de todos. Pero lo más importante es intentar imitar siempre la actitud del buen samaritano. Muchas veces caracterizamos o nos caracterizan por ser personas muy humanas. Mucha humanidad habita en quienes se preocupan por el bienestar y el sufrimiento de los demás y actúa de manera altruista, buscando ayudar y apoyar a quienes lo necesitan. Y si algo le sobraba al samaritano de la parábola era humanidad.

Hoy necesitamos de la humanidad de Jesús, del altruismo del buen samaritano. Que las dificultades y preocupaciones no quiten de nuestro corazón el deseo de ayudar al prójimo. Con poco o con mucho, con todo o con nada, recordemos siempre hacer el bien sin mirar a quien.

 

Oración : Señor, perdón por las veces que hemos sido indiferentes e insensibles ante las necesidades de los demás. Ayúdanos a ser como el buen samaritano, dispuesto a amar y ayudar a aquellos que están en necesidad. Que tu Espiritu nos llene de amor y compasión que solo viene de ti. En el nombre de Jesús te lo pedimos, Amén.
