SINFUL CITIES?

Luke 10: 13-16

And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.

Today, advances in communication have made it possible for what is happening at the far edge of the world to be known instantly in faraway places.

The news almost always revolves around bad governments, bad companies, the success or scandal of someone famous. And it seems to us that everything is corrupted by sin. To be sure, everything bad that happens has its roots in human errors, even the environment has been affected by the occurrence of unusual events.

We often use the words of Jesus to judge others. Jesus looked with regret at the unbelieving cities. He also looks at us knowing where our mistakes and faults are, while we insist on making excuses and hiding them even from ourselves.

Repentance must go hand in hand with change, with a humble but confident attitude, that the Lord will always help us.

 

Prayer: Lord Jesus, place your faith in us; look with mercy on us and forgive us. In your name, Amen.

¿CIUDADES PECADORAS?

Lucas 10: 13-16

Y perdónanos nuestros pecados porque también nosotros perdonamos a todos los que nos deben.

Hoy día, los adelantos en la comunicación han hecho posible que lo que pasa en el confín del mundo pueda saberse al momento en sitios lejanos.

Casi siempre las noticias giran sobre malos gobiernos, malas empresas, éxito o escándalo de alguien famoso. Y nos parece que todo está viciado por el pecado. Muy justo, todo lo malo que sucede tiene su raíz en los errores humanos, hasta se ha afectado el medio ambiente ocurriendo hechos insólitos.

A veces nos apropiamos de la Palabra de Jesús para juzgar a todos. Jesús miró con pesar las ciudades incrédulas. Así también nos mira sabiendo dónde están nuestros errores y faltas, mientras insistimos en excusarnos y esconderlos hasta de nosotros mismos.

El arrepentimiento debe ir de la mano del cambio, de una actitud humilde pero segura, de que el Señor siempre nos ayudará.

 

Oración: Pon Señor Jesús tu fe en nosotros, míranos con misericordia y perdónanos. En tu nombre. Amén.
