LET US LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF THE SPIRIT

Luke 12: 11-12

“… for the Holy Spirit will teach you at  that time what you should say.”.

Lucas 12:12 NIV

In the midst of the pressing realities of life in the contemporary world, as human beings we have lost the ability to keep our words to ourselves, to be silent in order to open ourselves to listening.

Today, silence has a negative charge for people. It is perceived as a lack born of loneliness. Not having to speak, being left without arguments, without words or precise reasons to speak is a sensation that, as human beings, we fear.

Fewer and fewer people like silence. We are constantly looking for someone to talk to, we listen to some music; we occupy our time and our ears, we need to have our cell phone always within reach; we cling to any pretext that helps us not to be silent. We do not realize that with so much noise, we lose the  place to the voice of the Spirit of God in our lives. A voice that comes through the solicitude that is experienced when the person in the midst of silence is at ease with himself.

Let us have daily times of silence, leaving room only for the Voice of the Spirit to speak to us, to fill us with meaning and reasons that will guide our life.

 

Prayer: Spirit of life, here we are, make yourself present, help us to hear your voice. Amen

ESCUCHEMOS LA VOZ DEL ESPÍRITU

Lucas 12: 11-12

Porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en la misma hora lo que debéis decir.

Lucas 12:12

En medio de las realidades que apremian la vida en el mundo contemporáneo, como seres humanos hemos perdido la capacidad de guardarnos las palabras, de hacer silencio para abrirnos a la escucha.

Hoy el silencio tiene una carga negativa para las personas, se percibe como una carencia que nace de la soledad. No tener que hablar, quedarnos sin argumentos, sin palabras o razones precisas para decir es una sensación a la que, como seres humanos, tememos.

Cada vez son menos las personas que gustan del silencio, constantemente buscamos con quien conversar, escuchamos alguna música; ocupamos nuestro tiempo y nuestros oidos, necesitamos tener el celular siempre al alcance; nos aferramos de cualquier pretexto que nos ayude a no quedar en silencio. No nos percatamos que con tanta algarabia, le restamos lugar a la voz del Espiritu de Dios en nuestras vidas. Voz que llega a través de la solicitud que se experimenta cuando la persona en medio del silencio está a gusto con ella misma.

Tengamos a diario tiempos de silencio, dejando lugar sólo a la Voz del Espiritu para que nos hable, nos llene de sentidos y razones que guen nuestro vivir

 

Oración: Espiritu de vida, aqui estamos, hazte presente, ayúdanos a escuchar tu voz. Amén
