CORNERSTONE, HEAD OF THE CHURCH

Matthew 21: 33-43

‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone

Jesus Christ, the Master, summed up all the history of Israel in one parable. The land flowing with milk and honey also produces grapes to make good wine, and that’s what it’s about. A vineyard (Israel), some workers (the people) and those sent (the prophets) who, until the arrival of John the Baptist, were stoned or killed because of selfishness and sin.

Here Jesus is propheetic: they would kill the heir. And this heir was the head of the Christian Church.

Sometimes our actions become slow and timid.  We forget that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and that in his hands our lives and that of the community are secure. We march forward subject to him.

God continues to send prophets in our times. With open ears and hearts we hear his message.

 

Prayer: Our God, help us to understand the message you send us daily. Amen.

CABEZA DEL ÁNGULO, PIEDRA DE LA IGLESIA.

Mateo 21: 33-43

La piedra que desecharon los edificadores ha venido a su cabeza del ángulo. El Señor ha hecho esto.

Jesucristo, el Maestro, resumió en una parábola toda la historia de Israel. La tierra en que fluye leche y miel también produce uvas para hacer buen vino y de eso se trata. Una viña (Israel), unos labradores (el pueblo) y los enviados (los profetas) que hasta la llegada de Juan el bautista, fueron apedreados o muertos por causa del egoismo y el pecado.

Aqui Jesús es profético: matarian al heredero. Y este heredero fue la cabeza del ángulo que es la Iglesia Cristiana.

A veces nuestro actuar se vuelve lento y temeroso. Olvidamos que Jesucristo es la cabeza de la iglesia y que en sus manos, nuestra vida y la de la comunidad están seguras. Marchamos adelante sujetos a Él.

Dios sigue enviando profetas en nuestros dias. Con oidos y corazones abiertos escuchemos su mensaje.

 

Oración: Dios nuestro, ayúdanos a entender el mensaje que tú nos envias cada dia. Amén.
