GOD’S LIST

Luke 10: 17-24

Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

A few years ago we had a Pastor in our church who became a legend among us. His life story, dedication, power of conviction and humility impacted our community. One of his favorite hymns was, “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder.” We sang it so much that years later we noticed that emotion filled our being and its name was repeated in our minds when we heard and sang that hymn “When the roll is called up yonder . . . I’ll be there.” We will all be in heaven, if we do the greatest or simplest acts with faith and love. It is not a competition with limited numbers, it is an invitation to do good, to work for ourselves and for others, building the Reign of God, here and now.

 

Prayer: God of love, let our lives be a reflection of your love. Help us not to forget those who have gone before us and are in your glory. Amen.

LA LISTA DE DIOS.

Lucas 10: 17-24

Pero no os regocijéis que los espíritus se os sujetan, sino regocijaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos.

Lucas 10:20

Hace unos años tuvimos en nuestra iglesia un Pastor que pasó a ser una leyenda entre nosotros. Su historia de vida, de entrega, de poder de convencimiento y de humildad impactó en nuestra comunidad. Unos de sus himnos favoritos eran: “Cuando allá se pase lista”. Tanto lo cantamos que años después notamos que la emoción llenaba nuestro ser y su nombre se repetía en nuestra mente al oír y cantar ese himno “Cuando allá se pase lista. ... a mi nombre yo feliz contestaré.” Todos estaremos en el cielo, si los mayores o sencillos actos los hacemos con fe y amor. No es una competencia con números limitados, es una invitación al bien, a obrar para nosotros y para los demás construyendo el Reino de Dios, aquí y ahora.

 

Oración: Dios de amor, permite que nuestra vida sea un reflejo de tu amor. Ayúdanos a no olvidar a los que nos precedieron y están en tu gloria. Amén.
