HAPPY AND GRATEFUL IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES

Philippians 4: 12-14, 19-20

I can do all this through he who gives me strength.  (NIV)

Philippians 4: 13

Today, in his letter to the Philippians, Paul shows us his perspective regarding his personal experience. He has gone through times of abundance and scarcity, of being full and of being hungry. However, he has learned to be content in each of these situations. What is his secret? In verse 13, he reveals to us that his strength comes from Christ. He recognizes that, no matter the circumstances, he can face any situation with the help and strength that his faith in Jesus gives him. And we know Paul’s environment well.

Many shortages accompany our daily lives. But despite this, Paul’s invitation is for us to learn to be satisfied with what we have and have been able to achieve, recognizing that God will supply all our needs. Let us live this today and be present with joy, safe, trusting in the God who makes all things possible and who has accompanied us up to this point, has allowed us to put food on our table and has filled us with the strength to continue. We can do everything through Christ who strengthens us.

Prayer: Help us, Lord, to be able to rejoice and thank you for everything we have and have been able to achieve. Strengthen us in Christ to be able to face any situation that arises. We trust in your provision and give you glory forever, amen.
