MAY JOY NOT BE MISSING

Luke 10:1-19

 

The seventy-two  returned with joy and said, “Even the demons submit to us in your name.”.

The Kingdom of God that Jesus proclaims is a wedding, a banquet; that is why for those of us who accept the task of announcing the Master, joy cannot be absent as one of the announcing signs of the nearness of Jesus and the Kingdom that he came to share.

Those of us who truly wish to announce Jesus, rather than being anxious about how much there is to do, rather than being filled with anxiety about the vicissitudes that may arise, rather than carrying the weight of those who do not accept the arrival of the Master; we must be filled with joy to share with those around us.

In the passage Jesus warns the disciples about all that the road ahead could bring them. Certainly these warnings came true, but even so they experienced the joy that comes from knowing that they were committed to a project that goes beyond fears, anxieties and anxieties, to become wellbeing and blessing.

As part of this devotional time, let us do the exercise of looking at ourselves to identify which anxieties and fears prevent us from proclaiming the closeness of the Kingdom of God with our own lives, and let us pray to God asking for his help to overcome them and fill us with his joy.

 

Prayer: Good God, may we not lack joy. Let us live celebrating the anticipated presence of your Kingdom with our brothers and sisters. Amen.

QUE NO FALTE LA ALEGRÍA

Lucas 10:1-19

Los setenta y dos volvieron llenos de alegría, diciendo: “Señor, hasta los demonios se nos someten en tu nombre”.

Lucas 10: 17

 

El Reino de Dios que proclama Jesús, es boda, es banquete; por eso para quienes aceptamos el encargo de anunciar al Maestro, no puede faltar la alegria como una de las señales anunciadoras de la cercania de Jesús y del Reino que vino a compartir.

Quienes verdaderamente deseamos anunciar a Jesús, más que angustiarnos ante lo mucho por hacer, llenarnos de ansiedad ante las vicisitudes que puedan presentarse, más que cargar con el peso de quienes no aceptan la llegada del Maestro; debemos llenarnos de alegria para compartir con quienes están a nuestro alrededor.

En el pasaje Jesús advierte a los discipulos sobre todo lo que podia depararles el camino. Con certeza estas advertencias se hicieron realidad, pero aun asi ellos experimentaron la alegria que nace de saberse comprometidos con un proyecto que va más allá de los miedos, las angustias y ansiedades, para convertirse en bienestar y bendición.

Como parte de este tiempo devocional hagamos el ejercicio de mirarnos para identificar cuáles ansiedades y miedos nos impiden proclamar la cercania del Reino de Dios con nuestra propia vida, y oremos a Dios pidiendo su ayuda para superarlos y llenarnos de su alegria.

 

Oración: Dios bueno, que no nos falte la alegria. Permitenos vivir celebrando la presencia anticipada de tu Reino con nuestros hermanos y hermanas. Amén.
