ONLY ONE THING IS NECESSARY

God gives us one more day of life, and today his word, with the story of Martha and Mary, invites us to reflect on how we prioritize our time and our actions. Martha represents the busy attitude, preoccupied with daily obligations, while Mary shows the courage to stop, worship and contemplate the Lord.

We often find ourselves caught up in a fast-paced routine full of responsibilities. We worry about work, household chores, the many things to solve and that we are missing, among many other things. However, how many times do we stop to spend time talking with God and listening to his word?

Jesus reveals to us that worship and contemplation are fundamental in our relationship with him. It is not about leaving aside our responsibilities, but about recognizing that only one thing is necessary at all times in our lives: seeking the presence of God and nurturing our soul with his word. In doing so, we find comfort, direction, and renewal to face our daily battles with a full and peaceful heart.

 

Prayer: Lord, today I have taken a pause to listen to you. Allow me to see you, adore you and contemplate you in everything that happens today. We need your wisdom, mercy and kindness. In the name of Jesus we ask you. Amen.

SOLO UNA COSA ES NECESARIA

Lucas 10:38-42

Pero solo una cosa es necesaria. Maria ha escogido la mejor parte, la cual no le será quitada.

Un día más de vida nos regala Dios, y hoy su Palabra, con la historia de Marta y María, nos invita a reflexionar sobre cómo priorizamos nuestro tiempo y nuestras acciones. Marta representa la actitud ocupada y preocupada por las obligaciones diarias, mientras que María muestra el valor de detenerse, adorar y contemplar al Señor.

A menudo nos vemos atrapados en una rutina acelerada y llena de responsabilidades. Nos preocupamos por el trabajo, las tareas del hogar, las tantas cosas que resolver y que nos faltan, entre muchas otras cosas. Sin embargo, ¿cuántas veces nos detenemos para dedicar tiempo a conversar con Dios y a escuchar su Palabra?

Jesús nos revela que la adoración y la contemplación son fundamentales en nuestra relación con Él. No se trata de dejar de lado nuestras responsabilidades, sino de reconocer que solo una cosa es necesaria en todo momento de nuestras vidas: buscar la presencia de Dios y nutrir nuestra alma con su Palabra. Al hacerlo, encontramos consuelo, dirección y renovación para enfrentar nuestras batallas diarias con un corazón pleno y en paz.

 

Oración : Señor, hoy he tomado una pausa para escucharte. Permite que pueda verte, adorarte y contemplarte en todo lo hoy acontezca. Necesitamos tu sabiduría, misericordia y bondad. En el nombre de Jesús, te lo pedimos. Amén.
