QUALITIES TO
CULTIVATE
MATTHEW 7:24-27
Everyone then who
hears these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise
man who built his house on rock.

Memories don’t die; they are the root of the soul and food
for our current actions. We often need to clean our inner storehouse of
unpleasant things, of sadnesses and sorrows, to find the lightness which frees
us from bondage, from heavy burdens that we carry uphill for so long. Have you
ever stopped to think about the values that move you? I’m going to share some
things here that we ought to cultivate in our life.
Stand strong in your values regardless of how much is
against you, and don’t yield to the pressures that are at the point of breaking
your resistance; that is courage.
Always have a smile on your face to help and motivate those
around you, even if inwardly you feel as if you are dying; that is strength.
Don’t stop before anything and always hold in your heart
what you know is correct; that is determination.
Do more than is expected of you to make the lives of those
around you more pleasant, without complaining at all; that is compassion.
Help a friend who needs it, doing your best no matter how
much time or what it takes to do it; that is loyalty.
Face each difficulty with the certainty that there will
always be a better tomorrow; that is confidence in God.
Cultivate those values and you will be one of those who, as
the Lord said, build their house on a rock.
Prayer: Help us, God, to build on the rock, now and always. Amen.

CULTIVAR
MATEO 7:24-27
Cualquiera, pues
que me oye estas palabras, y las hace, le compararé a un hombre prudente que
edificó su cada sobre la roca
Mateo 7:24
Los recuerdos no mueren, los recuerdos son la raíz del alma
y el nutriente de nuestros actos presentes. Muchas veces necesitamos limpiar
nuestro almacén interior de cosas feas, de tristezas y dolores para encontrar
la liviandad que nos haga libres de ataduras, de pesadas cargas que no se
pueden llevar tanto tiempo a cuestas. ¿Alguna vez te has puesto a pensar en
cuáles son los valores que te mueven? Aquí te compartimos algunos que debemos
cultivar en nuestra vida: Permanecer firme en tus valores, sin importar que
todo esté en contra tuya, y sin doblegarte ante la presión que está a punto de
quebrar tu resistencia: eso es coraje. Tener siempre una sonrisa en tu cara,
sin importar que por dentro sientes que estas muriendo, tan sólo para poder
apoyar y motivar a los que te rodea: eso es fuerza. No detenerte ante nada, y
hacer siempre lo que en tu corazón sabes que es correcto: eso es determinación.
Hacer más de lo que se espera de ti, para que la vida de los demás sea más placentera,
sin quejarte en absoluto: eso es compasión. Ayudar a un amigo que lo necesita,
haciendo lo mejor que puedes, sin importar el tiempo que te tome o lo que
tengas que hacer: eso es lealtad. Enfrentar cada dificultad con la certeza de
que siempre habrá un mejor mañana: eso es confianza en Dios.
Cultiva esos valores y serás uno de esos que el Maestro
señaló como los que edifican su casa sobre la roca.
Oración: Ayúdanos Dios a edificar sobre la roca hoy y siempre. Amén.
