LET’S LOOK AT THE ANTS

PROVERBS 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard…

Proverbs 6:6

Ants are not lazy; they are always running. If anything, we could find fault in them for their lack of coordination: they circulate in all directions. Throughout a period, they transport twigs, depositing them, and then going somewhere else, without any apparent reason. At times, they help one another, but on many occasions, they become exhausted through carrying the heavy loads all by themselves. In observing them more closely, the incessant agitation of ants is ascertained. They transit through veritable little streets, piling up innumerable twigs and arranging them together in a wisely organized fashion. While it is true that they transport some inadequate materials, the specialized ants separate those. No one ant is wise all by itself, but all together they demonstrate a notable wisdom.

The same thing occurs with the Church of the Lord. No single believer can work alone, but all of us are being built together like a spiritual house, called the temple of God. That is where God is known and worshiped. If a believer is discouraged by the apparent futility of his activity, think about the ants and establish a parallel. Observe the extraordinary work that the Lord carries out, using the weak contribution of each of his redeemed people.  Soon that work will be known and admired by all.

Prayer: Help us, Lord, to learn from the ants. Help us to unite ourselves in your Work. Amen.

MIREMOS A LAS HORMIGAS

PROVERBIOS 6:6-8

Ve a la hormiga, oh perezoso…

Proverbios 6:6

Las hormigas no son perezosas, siempre están corriendo. Más bien podría reprochársele su falta de coordinación: circulan en todas las direcciones. Durante un rato trasportan ramitas, las depositan y van a otro lugar, sin razón aparente. A veces se ayudan unas a otras, pero en muchas ocasiones se agotan al arrastrar ellas solas cargas muy pesadas.

Al observarlas más de cerca se constata la incesante agitación de las hormigas. No en vano el resultado es el hormiguero. Transitan por verdaderas callecitas, amontonan innumerables ramitas y las arreglan en un conjunto sabiamente organizado. Es cierto que traen algunos materiales inadecuados, pero las hormigas especializadas los apartan. Ninguna hormiga es sabia por sí misma, pero todas juntas manifiestan una notable sabiduría. Ocurre lo mismo con la Iglesia del Señor. Ningún creyente es capaz de obrar solo, pero todos somos juntamente edificados como casa espiritual, llamada templo de Dios. Allí se conoce a Dios y se le adora.

Si un creyente está desalentado por la aparente futilidad de su actividad, reflexione sobre las hormigas y establezca un paralelo. Observe la extraordinaria obra que el Señor efectúa, utilizando la débil contribución de cada uno de sus redimidos. Pronto esa obra será conocida y admirada por todos.

Oración: Ayúdanos Señor, a aprender de las hormigas. Ayúdanos a unirnos en tu Obra. Amén.
