GRATITUDE TO GOD

PSALM 75:1-4

We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks; your name is near.

People tell of your wondrous deeds.

Psalm 75:1

This is the story of a young blind girl who hated herself and everyone else because of her blindness. She hated everyone, except for her boyfriend who loved her greatly.

One day a pair of healthy eyes were available, and when they operated on her, she could see. When it was done, the boyfriend asked if she would marry him. She replied no because she realized he was blind. Sad, the boyfriend understood and walked out of her life. In departing, he left this note: “The only thing I ask is that you take very good care of my eyes since I gave them to you and now they are yours. I love you.”

Today, before you say speak hurtful things, think of those who can’t speak at all; before you complain about the taste of your meal, think of those who have nothing to eat; before you complain about your partner, think of those hearts that are lonely and sad; before complaining about your children, think of those who want children and can’t have them. When you are tired and bickering about your work, think of the millions of people who are unemployed. Before you point a finger and judge, remember that we have all made mistakes and will keep on doing so.

Smile, and give God thanks that you are alive and you are still here. Life is a gift, an adventure, a celebration, a beautiful journey. May all that we do and say praise the Lord!

Prayer: Today, my heart rises up to you, Lord, only to say: thank you, my God.  Amen.

GRATITUD A DIOS

SALMO 75:1-4

Gracias te damos, oh Dios, gracias te damos, pues cercano está tu nombre; los hombres cuentan tus maravillas

Salmo 75:1

Esta es la historia de una joven ciega que se odiaba a sí misma, y a todo el mundo por ser ciega. Odiaba a todos, menos a su novio que la quería mucho.

Un día, consiguió un par de ojos sanos, la operaron y pudo ver. Cuando lo hizo, el novio le preguntó si se casaría con él. Ella respondió que no, porque se dio cuenta de que él era ciego. El novio, triste, lo comprendió y se despidió de su vida. En su partida le dejó esta nota: “Tan sólo te pido que cuides muy bien de mis ojos, pues te los regalé y ahora son los tuyos. Te amo”

 Hoy, antes de decir algo destructivo, piensa en los que no pueden hablar; antes de quejarte del sabor de tu comida, piensa en los que no tienen que comer; antes de quejarte de tu pareja, piensa en los corazones solitarios y tristes,   antes de quejarte de tus hijos, piensa en quienes no los tienen y los desean. Cuando estés cansado y reniegues de tu trabajo, piensa en los millones de personas que están desempleadas. Antes de señalar con el dedo y juzgar, recuerda que todos hemos cometido errores y lo seguiremos haciendo.

Sonríe y da gracias a Dios, porque estás vivo y todavía andas por aquí. La vida es un regalo, una aventura, una celebración, un hermoso viaje. ¡Qué todo lo que hagamos y digamos, alabe al Señor!

Oración: Hoy se eleva mi corazón a ti, Señor, solo para decirte: gracias Dios mío. Amén.
