OUR STRENGTH IS IN TRUST

PSALM 37:3-7

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.  (RIV)

   Psalm 37:7a

Have you prayed constantly and waited for a great deal of time without seeing signs? Are you tired of waiting? Are you at the point of giving up completely? Perhaps you’ve not waited as you should. This has taken you out of the true place where God can find you.

“Wait with patience.” (Romans 8:25). Patience relieves weariness. He said he would come, and his promise equals his presence.  Patience makes sadness disappear. Why are you sad and despairing?  God knows your need better than you, and his objective in waiting isn’t other than relief from everything, the greatest glory.

God only desires that you believe; then you will understand that all is well. Patience removes all desire.  Your eagerness, perhaps, is greater than your desire that God’s will be done.

When you cultivate patience, you succeed in banishing all weakness, and instead of waiting for time to pass you’ll know that God is preparing a greater provision. Patience also makes vacillation disappear. As it says in Daniel 8:18, “Raise me to my feet.”  God’s foundations are firm while we wait. Patience dedicates itself to worship, sometimes to praise as well because it helps us bear suffering with joy. This is patience at her best.

But all these phrases about patience will reach perfection while you wait, and thus you will encounter a great enrichment.

Prayer:  Lord, endow us with trust and patience to be able to offer others your love and mercy. Amen.

EN LA CONFIANZA ESTÁ NUESTRA FORTALEZA

SALMO 37:3-7

Confía calladamente en Dios y espérale con paciencia.

   Salmo 37:7a

¿Has orado constantemente y esperado mucho tiempo sin ver señales? ¿Estás cansado de esperar? ¿Estás a punto de abandonarlo todo?

Quizás no has esperado como debías. Esto te ha conducido fuera del verdadero lugar donde Dios puede encontrarte.

“Espera con paciencia”. (Romanos 8:25) La paciencia quita el cansancio. Él dijo que vendría y su promesa equivale a su presencia. La paciencia hace desaparecer tristezas. ¿Por qué entristeces y desesperas? Dios sabe mejor que tú cuál es tu necesidad, y su propósito en esperar no es otro que el sacar de todo, la mayor gloria. Dios desea únicamente que creas; entonces podrás comprender que todo está bien. La paciencia quita todo deseo. Tu afán quizás es mayor que tu deseo de que se cumpla la voluntad de Dios.

Cuando cultivas la paciencia logras desterrar toda debilidad y en vez de dejar que pase el tiempo, sabes que Dios está preparando una provisión mayor. La paciencia hace también que desaparezca la vacilación. Como dice en Daniel 8:18: “Hazme estar en pie”. Los cimientos de Dios son firmes mientras esperamos. La paciencia se dedica a la adoración, algunas veces también a la alabanza porque nos ayuda a llevar el sufrimiento con gozo. Esto es lo mejor de ella.

Mas todas estas frases de paciencia tendrán su obra perfecta mientras esperas, y así encontrarás un gran enriquecimiento.

Oración: Señor, dótanos de confianza y paciencia para poder brindar a los demás de tu amor y misericordia. Amén.
