STRENGTH IN WEAKNESS
2 CORINTHIANS 12: 7-10
My grace is sufficient for
you, for my power
is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
Our world rewards strength: the physical strength of athletes, the
financial strength of corporations, the political force of elected officials, and
the military strength of the army.
Paul offers a new concept of strength, because weakness can make
a person strong.
We certainly would have no problem if God used our natural
strengths: speaking, organizing, managing, or selling; but instead of this, God
chooses to use us in the ways we are weakest.
Weakness has a way of making us trust in God beyond our own
strength.
The thorn in the flesh suffered by the Apostle Paul was a
painful and humiliating experience given him so he would not become proud.
Prayer: Lord, help us to grow
in those areas where we are weak. Strengthen our spirit and help us to eschew
all pride. Amen.

FORTALEZA
EN LA DEBILIDAD
2 CORINTIOS 12:7-10
Con mi gracia tienes
más que suficiente, porque mi poder
se perfecciona en la
debilidad
2 Corintios 12:9
Nuestro mundo recompensa la fortaleza: la fuerza física
de los atletas, la fuerza financiera de las compañías, la fuerza política de
los funcionarios públicos, y la fuerza militar del ejército.
Pablo ofrece un nuevo concepto de fortaleza porque la
debilidad puede hacer fuerte a una persona.
Seguramente nosotros no tendríamos ningún problema en que
Dios usara nuestras características naturales de fortaleza: hablar, organizar,
administrar o vender; pero en lugar de eso, Dios escoge usarnos en los aspectos
que somos más débiles.
La debilidad tiene la manera de hacernos confiar en Dios
más allá de nuestras propias fuerzas.
El aguijón en la carne que sufrió el Apóstol Pablo era
una experiencia dolorosa y humillante que le fue dada para evitar su orgullo.
Oración: Señor
ayúdanos a crecer en aquellas áreas en que somos débiles. Fortalece nuestro
espíritu y aleja de nosotros todo orgullo. Amén.
