Sunday, September 16 YES, I AM CHRISTIAN 2 CORINTHIANS 4:1-6

Sunday, September 16
YES, I AM CHRISTIAN
2 CORINTHIANS 4:1-6

We don’t preach about ourselves. Instead, we preach about Jesus Christ as Lord, and we describe ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake.
2 Corinthians 4:5 CEB

A few seconds are enough to build or destroy an impression, but four simple, easy words will be enough so that our neighbor sees our humility or presumption.  From the moment we hear and open our door to God, we become his followers.  Jesus became our model to follow, such a goal for us!  In Sunday School we teach that we should be in solidarity, loving our neighbor; but do we fulfill or at least try to fulfill the commandments?  Or do we become hypocrites when, like the pharisees and religious leaders, we hide behind illness or family situations so as not to respond to the call of those in need?  To be Christian is to visit the sick, the needy, not to give leftovers to a neighbor so that we will be seen as caring.  To be Christian is to forgo sleep in order to accompany someone in pain, it is to cry with those who cry, laugh with the happy, it is to put our trust in God, because He is our only sustenance. When we say, “Yes, I am Christian”, we are letting others see the gospel through our lives; we show God to those who are around us.  We should remember that we are God’s instruments, God is not our instrument, and every time we say “Yes, I am Christian”, we take into account the full meaning of these words.

Prayer: Lord, you have called us to follow you. We have accepted, but sometimes we lose our course.  Teach us and guide us always on your path.  Amen.

SÍ; YO SOY CRISTIANO
2 CORINTIOS 4:1-6
