GLORIOUS RADIANCE

Hebrews 1:1-4

He is the reflection of God’s glory

Hebrews 1:3a (NRSV)

            This letter begins by stressing that God spoke to our predecessors in different ways. Some that we are familiar with are dreams, visitations, signs, parables and events. Later, he tells how God was revealed by means of the Son; evidently this revelation of God through Jesus Christ is of greatest importance. Jesus’ glorious radiance comes from his divine essence. We should think of this radiance not as a blinding light, but rather as the reflection of God’s image that lights our path.

            For Christians, this should be the radiance that we must follow. Other radiances can blind us and lead us down the wrong path when we place our faith in the wrong people and desert Christ. His radiance shouldn’t upset us but rather adequately enlighten us. As much as we know how to take advantage of it, our lives will be adequately illuminated.

 

 

Prayer: God of life, we ask that your radiance continues accompanying us through Jesus Christ. May he guide us every day and in the darkest night. May we feel the security of your presence. Amen.

GLORIOSO RESPLANDOR

Hebreos 1:1-4

Él es el resplandor glorioso de Dios

Hebreos 1:3 a

            Esta carta comienza resaltando que Dios habló a nuestros antepasados de diferentes formas. Algunas que conocemos son sueños, visitaciones, señales, parábolas y sucesos. Después cuenta que en los últimos tiempos se reveló por medio de su Hijo, evidentemente esta revelación de Dios por medio de Jesucristo es de suma importancia. El glorioso resplandor de Jesús proviene de su esencia divina. Pensemos en este resplandor no como una luz cegadora, sino una que refleja la imagen de Dios y alumbra nuestro camino.

            Para cristianos y cristianas ese debe ser el resplandor que debemos seguir. Jesús es el resplandor de Dios. Otros resplandores  nos pueden cegar y llevar por el camino equivocado cuando ponemos nuestra fe en las personas equivocadas y nos alejamos de Cristo. Su resplandor no debe molestar, sino alumbrar de la manera adecuada. En la medida que sepamos aprovecharlo nuestras vidas estarán adecuadamente iluminadas.

 

Oración: Dios de vida, te pedimos que tu resplandor nos siga acompañando por medio de Cristo Jesús. Que nos guíe cada díía y en la noche más oscura. Que podamos sentir la seguridad de tu presencia. Amén.
