PRAISING GOD

Psalm 148

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven.

Psalm 148:13 (NRSV)

            This beautiful psalm is a clamor of praises to God from the beginning to the end.  It opens and closes with an alleluia, making an invitation to all of creation to surrender before the amazing grace and power of its creator. 

            We have been created so that our lives may be continuous praise to God.  We who praise God must take care that we do it entirely, not only with words and songs, but also with each and every act of justice and love. 

            Praise is more than devotion, it is a responsibility, and when we don’t do it with our voices, our lives will give shouts of testimony that others will listen to.  Praising God sincerely and coherently will make the signs of sin and death disappear.  Praising God is without a doubt designed to edify the new human being in justice, peace and equity   This is the praise that God appreciates. 

 

Prayer: Always present, Lord, we ask you that you give to us the courage to surrender our lives to you in an eternal act of praise.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

LA ALABANZA A DIOS

Salmo 148

Alaben todos ellos el nombre del Señor, pues sólo su nombre es grande; su esplendor está por sobre los cielos y la tierra.

Salmo 148:13

            Este hermoso salmo es un clamor de alabanzas a Dios desde su comienzo hasta el final. Abre y cierra con un aleluya, haciendo una invitación a que toda la creación se rinda ante la gracia y el poder admirable de su creador.

            Hemos sido creados para que nuestra vida sea una continua alabanza a Dios. Quienes le alabamos debemos cuidar que lo hagamos íntegramente, no solo con palabras y cantos, sino también con cada acto de justicia y amor.

            La alabanza es más que devoción, es una responsabilidad, y cuando no lo hacemos con nuestras voces, nuestras vidas darán gritos de testimonio que otros escucharán. Alabar a Dios sincera y coherentemente hará que desaparezca de nosotros los signos de pecados y de muerte. Alabar a Dios es sin lugar a dudas edificar en justicia, paz y equidad al nuevo ser humano. Esa es la alabanza que agrada a Dios.    

 

Oración: Siempre presente Señor, te pedimos que nos des la valentía de rendir nuestras vidas a Ti en un eterno acto de alabanza. Por Jesucristo nuestro Señor. Amén.
