THERE IS A WAY

john 14:1-14

Lord, because of many enemies, please lead me in your righteousness.

Make your way clear, right in front of me.

Psalm 5:8 (CEB)

            Today we live in times with definite instability–many insecurities and uncertainties are around us: wars, economic problems, illnesses.  We see desperation, lack of faith and love.  Often we are constantly thinking about ourselves and we forget about others.  Likewise, we have our hearts on insignificant things and not on those which are truly important. 

            Lamentably, we do not always see clearly, and even less when we are confused, and just like Phillip we say:  Lord, we don’t know where you are going, how can we follow you? We cannot find the way when everything is very dark.  At this moment the Lord’s answer resonates in the form of a promise:  I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but through me.

            John does not only show us that Jesus Christ is God, but he indicates to us that believing in Him we can find salvation.  He is the Way and not one of the ways. He is the Truth and not one of the truths.  He is Life itself, and he gave it for all. 

 

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for being the Way, the Truth and the Life so that we can reach the Father.  Allow me to never separate myself from you so that I will know how to share this gift with my neighbors  Amen.

HAY UN CAMINO

Juan 14:1-14

Señor, guíame en tu justicia, llévame por el buen camino.

Salmo 5:8

            Vivimos hoy tiempos con cierta inestabilidad,  y muchas inseguridades e incertidumbres rondan a nuestro alrededor:  guerras, problemas económicos, enfermedades. Vemos desesperanzas, falta de fe y amor. Muchas veces estamos pensando constantemente en nosotros y nos olvidamos de los otros. Igualmente tenemos nuestro corazón en cosas insignificantes y no en las que verdaderamente son importantes.

            Lamentablemente, no siempre vemos claro, cuando estamos confundidos menos, y decimos al igual que Felipe: Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas, ¿cómo vamos a seguirte?,  no encontramos el camino cuando todo se ve muy oscuro. Resuena en ese momento la respuesta del Señor en forma de promesa: Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida, nadie va al Padre sino por mí.

            Juan no sólo nos muestra que Jesucristo es Dios, sino que nos indica que creyendo en Él se puede hallar la salvación, Él es el Camino y no uno de los caminos, Él es la Verdad y no una de las verdades, Él es la Vida en sí mismo, pues la entrega para todos.

 

Oración: Gracias Señor, por ser Camino, Verdad y Vida para poder llegar hasta el Padre. Permite que nunca me aleje de ti y que sepa compartir este regalo con mis semejantes. Amén.
