OUR HEART

Galatians 4: 4-7

God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts,

Galatians 4:6a (NRSV)

            Almost always when we see the image of a heart, we associate it with love. In our culture the heart is that place where we keep those people or things that we love. We might say that there we preserve a certain intimacy with our deepest desires.

            We find ourselves in the middle of the year, and it is a good exercise to think about those resolutions that we had set for ourselves and how far they have been realized. Let’s also remember those people who have entered into our hearts and those who have left.

            God also acts in our hearts and in his infinite love has placed there the spirit of Jesus Christ. It is our job to allow the Spirit to be our guide, whether as a soft breeze or a powerful gust, but it overwhelms our entire being. In the most difficult times of our lives, the security of having the Spirit dwelling in our midst should encourage us and give us the certainty that we are never alone.

 

Prayer: Spirit of Live, we give you thanks for your presence in our hearts. Don’t ever leave. We want you to always be present in our lives. Amen.

NUESTRO CORAZÓN

Gálatas 4: 4-7

Dios envió el espíritu de su Hijo a nuestros corazones

Gálatas 4:6a

            Casi siempre que vemos la imagen de un corazón la asociamos con el amor. El corazón en nuestra cultura es el lugar donde depositamos aquellas personas o cosas que amamos. Podemos decir que ahí conservamos cierta intimidad con nuestros deseos más profundos. 

            Nos encontramos en medio del año y es buen ejercicio pensar en aquellos objetivos que nos trazamos, cómo ha sido su cumplimiento. Recordemos además las personas que han entrado a nuestro corazón y las que han salido de él.

            Dios también actúa en nuestros corazones y  en su infinito amor ha colocado el espíritu de Jesucristo. Nos corresponde dejar que el Espíritu sea quien nos guíe, ya sea como suave viento o ráfaga fuerte, pero que inunda todo nuestro ser. En los momentos más difíciles de nuestra vida, la seguridad de tener al Espíritu habitando en medio nuestro debe animarnos  y darnos la certeza de que nunca estamos solos ni solas.

 

Oración: Espíritu de Vida, te agrademos porque tu presencia está en nuestro corazón. No te apartes nunca de él. Queremos que estés presente siempre en nuestra vida. Amén.
