HIS HOLY NAME

Psalm 86: 1-5

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:18 (NRSV)

            In the experience of faith, the believer senses that God is closer when God’s name is invoked in the search for help. In this search there is one condition that is an important element: sincerity.

            God must not be invoked as a routine, or believing that he works like a magic formula. The important thing is a sincere heart when humbly seeking mercy, but with the certainty that only God can fill the empty places in our lives, whatever their nature may be.

            There is no reason why we cannot continuing asking and invoking God in our midst today. If we turn to Him with faith and confidence the Lord will hear our prayer and show his mercy. Let’s wait for “God’s time;” his kairos is not always ours since he knows the best times and ways that are the most appropriate to poour out his abundant blessings on his creatures.

 

Prayer: Lord, we praise you for your love toward your children, for hearing us and responding when we call on you. May your name be blessed for ever. Amen.

SU NOMBRE SANTO

Salmo 86: 1-5

El Señor está cerca de los que lo invocan, de los que lo invocan con sinceridad

Salmo 145:18

            En la experiencia de fe el creyente siente que Dios está más cerca cuando se le llama, cuando se invoca su nombre en busca de ayuda. En esta búsqueda hay una condición que se hace importante elemento: la sinceridad.

            A Dios no se le puede invocar por rutina, o creyendo que funciona como fórmula mágica. Lo importante es el corazón sincero en busca de misericordia, humildemente, pero con la certeza de que solo Dios puede llenar nuestros vacíos existenciales, de cualquier índole que estos puedan ser.

            No existe razón alguna por la que no podamos seguir pidiendo e invocando a Dios en nuestro medio de hoy. Si acudimos a Él con fe y confianza el Señor escuchará nuestra oración y mostrará su misericordia. Esperemos los “tiempos de Dios”, su kairós no es siempre el nuestro, pues Él conoce mejor qué tiempos y modos son los más apropiados para derramar sus bendiciones abundantes sobre sus criaturas.

 

Oración: Te alabamos Señor por tu grandeza, por tu amor hacia tus hijos e hijas, por escucharnos y respondernos cuando te invocamos. Sea tu Nombre bendito por siempre. Amén.
