 MY GUIDE FOREVER

Psalm 48

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide to the end.

Psalm 48:14 (NIV)

            We need a guide. Sometimes we would give everything we have to be told exactly what to do and where to go. We want to do the right thing, but we don’t know which way to go. Oh, if only we had a guide!

            The Lord our God guides us. He knows the way and will lead us until we arrive in peace at the end of our journey. Surely we desire no more infallible certainty. Let us place ourselves absolutely under His command and we will never lose our path. Let Him be our God and we shall find that He will be our guide. If we follow His law, we shall not lose the straight path of life, for we shall learn to lean upon Him for every step we take.

            Our consolation is that since this God is our God eternally, He will never cease to be our guide. Until death he will lead us and then we will dwell with him eternally and forever. This promise of divine guidance implies security throughout life: present salvation, guidance until our last hour and perpetual blessing

            Shouldn’t we seek these blessings in youth, rejoice in them in middle age and rest in them in old age?

 

Prayer: Lord, let us seek your guidance this day before we rise to go out into the world. Amen.

MI GUIA  POR SIEMPRE

Salmo 48

Porque este Dios es Dios nuestro eternamente y para siempre; Él nos guiará aún más allá de la muerte

Salmo 48:14

            Necesitamos un guía. Algunas veces daríamos todo lo que tenemos para que nos dijera exactamente lo que debemos hacer y a dónde dirigirnos. Queremos hacer lo recto, pero no sabemos cuál  camino tenemos que seguir. ¡Oh, si tuviésemos un guía!

            El Señor nuestro Dios nos guía. Él conoce el camino y nos conducirá hasta que lleguemos en paz al fin de nuestro viaje. Seguramente no deseamos certeza más infalible. Pongámonos absolutamente bajo su mando y nunca perderemos nuestro sendero. Que  Él sea nuestro Dios y encontraremos que Él será nuestro guía. Si seguimos su ley, no perderemos la senda recta de la vida, pues aprenderemos a apoyarnos en Él para cada paso que damos.

            Nuestro consuelo es que como este Dios  es Dios nuestro eternamente, nunca dejará de ser nuestro guiador. Hasta la muerte nos conducirá y después moraremos con Él eternamente y para siempre. Esta promesa de dirección divina implica seguridad durante toda la vida: salvación presente, dirección hasta nuestra última hora y bendición perpetua.

            ¿No debiéramos buscar estas bendiciones en la juventud, regocijarnos en ellas en la edad madura y reposarnos en ellas en la vejez?

 

Oración: Señor, permite que en este día busquemos tu dirección antes de levantarnos para salir al mundo. Amén.
