AUGUST 24
COMPLYING WITH YOUR WILL
John 8:21-30
The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.
John 8:29 (NIV)
Doing what pleases God is the greatest concern of all good believers who know that this is the best way to stay away from the influences that always exert sin. Not doing what pleases God always carries difficulties for us, but even more, it makes us want God to do what we wish. The worst deaf person is not the one who can’t hear but the one who only hears what he wants to hear.
In front of Jesus, the Jewish leaders looked for all types of excuses to evade their responsibility. Their questions were not so much ridiculous as they were intentionally evil. According to John, Jesus resorted to something that was affecting the thinking of his questioners: the division between good and bad, that which was from above and that from below, that of the other world and that of this world.
There is nothing easier than looking for the one who is accountable for our errors or mistakes; but we will not always come out unscathed by our intent. The dialogue between Jesus and the Jewish leaders happened long ago, but we are near to Jesus now and we know that his message is from the Father. We invite you to listen and become part of that group that began to believe in Him and to live in accordance with his teachings.
Prayer: Lord, open our ears to your Word and accept our faith in you. Through Jesus, Amen.

AGOSTO 24
CUMPLIENDO CON SU VOLUNTAD
Juan 8:21-30
