LIVING TO LOVE

1 Peter 1: 22-25

Love one another deeply, from the heart.

1 Peter 1: 22b (NIV)

            There is a Christian song that affirms: how beautiful it is to live to love, how great it is to have to give, to give happiness and joy, to give of oneself, this is love. To love God, to give oneself to God in order to love others, to love one another, to love neighbor as ourselves, is without a doubt the great message of God summed up in a word that synthesizes the essence of this God in whom we believe. All that we think, say, do and feel with true love becomes reality and gives testimony to the truth of our faith.

            A pure and sincere love is a love that doesn’t hold onto rancor or selfishness, which forgives, which gives new opportunities, which gives all that it has and gives to those who need it most. This is the love that leads us to give life to another whom we love so much if it is needed.

            Today this text reminds us that in the midst of problems we are blessed with the love of our loved ones, the love of our brothers and sisters in Christ, the love of friends, and, especially, with the love of God. With such love it is necessary to be happy with life, to smile, and to be available to give all of this love that we have to others.

 

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for giving us your infinite love. Beginning today, allow us to be able to throw out bad things that do not let us love with a pure and sincere heart. Allow us Lord, to set aside all that you do not permit so that we can receive the love that comes from you. Amen.

VIVIENDO PARA AMAR

1 Pedro 1: 22-25

Así que deben amarse unos a otros con un corazón puro y con todas sus fuerzas.

1 Pedro 1: 22 b.

            Hay un canto cristiano que afirma: qué lindo es vivir para amar, que grande es tener para dar, dar alegría y felicidad, darse uno mismo, eso es amar. Amar a Dios, darse a Dios para amar a los demás, amarnos unos a otros, amar al prójimo como a nosotros mismos, es sin dudas el gran mensaje de Dios resumido en un verbo que sintetiza la esencia de ese Dios en quien creemos. Todo lo que pensemos, digamos, hagamos y sintamos con verdadero amor, hace realidad y da testimonio de la veracidad de nuestra fe.

            Un amor puro y sincero es ese amor que no guarda rencor ni egoísmos, que perdona, que da nuevas oportunidades, que entrega todo lo que tiene y se entrega a los que más necesitan, es ese amor que nos lleva a dar la vida si es necesario por el otro o la otra que tanto amamos.

            Hoy este texto nos recuerda que en medio de los problemas somos bendecidos con el amor de nuestros seres queridos, de nuestros hermanos en Cristo, el amor de amigos y, en especial, con el amor de Dios. Con tanto amor es necesario alegrarnos la vida, sonreír, y estar dispuestos a regalar todo este amor que tenemos a los demás.

 

Oración: Querido Dios, gracias por regalarnos tu infinito amor. Permite que podamos desde hoy desechar las cosas malas que no nos permiten amar con corazón puro y sincero. Permite Señor que podamos apartar todo lo que no nos permita entregarnos al amor que viene de ti. Amén.
