TODAY I INVITE YOU TO TRUST GOD

Psalm 118:1-41

With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can mortals do to me?

            We live amid constant threats. We are threatened by infirmities, economic problems, family disputes, wars, and climate change. At time our spirits are cast down by these occurrences, and hope seems to disappear from the horizon. Talking to people on the street, or even in our own homes, can be very discouraging because everywhere people find reasons to complain and see no hope. We hear the constant hue and cry that this product is missing or that we are living in such terrible times. And all that can be true, but we have an all powerful and merciful God in whom we can trust.

            The Psalms invite us to trust God, to live without fear, because in the midst of the hardest difficulties, God does not abandon us. We trust God. We live without fear. We live joyfully, strengthened by our Heavenly Father, illuminated by his love, his help, his companionship which infuses strength and allows us to confront all the difficulties that we experience with the optimistic assurance that with God we will come out victorious.

 

Prayer: Lord, let us learn to trust you, to rest in the strength that you give us, to sing joyful sings of praise because you are good and your mercy is everlasting. Amen.

HOY TE INVITO A CONFIAR EN DIOS

Salmo 118:1-41

Jehová está conmigo. No temeré lo que me pueda hacer el hombre.

Salmo 118:6

            Vivimos en constantes amenazas. Nos amenazan las enfermedades, los problemas económicos, los conflictos familiares, los anuncios de guerras, los cambios climáticos. A veces nuestro ánimo se derrumba por estas noticias, y la esperanza como que se nos pierde del horizonte. Hablar con la gente en la calle, o aun en nuestra propia casa, puede resultarnos muy trágico porque por doquiera la gente encuentra motivos para quejarse y no ver esperanza. Escuchamos el clamor constante: “que si falta este producto, que si volveremos a tiempos difíciles.” Y todo esto puede ser verdad, pero tenemos un Dios todopoderoso y misericordioso en quien confiar.

            Los Salmos nos invitan a confiar en Dios, a vivir sin temor, porque en medio de las más duras penas, Dios no nos abandona. Confiemos en el Señor. Vivamos sin temor. Vivamos jubilosos, fortalecidos en nuestro Padre Celestial, iluminados por su amor, por su ayuda, por su compañía que nos infunde valor y nos permite enfrentar todas las dificultades que se nos presentan, con optimista seguridad de que con Dios saldremos victoriosos.

 

Oración: Permítenos, Señor, que aprendamos a confiar en ti, a descansar en la fortaleza que nos das, a entonar jubilosos cánticos de agradecimiento porque tú  eres bueno y para siempre es tu misericordia. Amén.
