I AM…

Exodus 3: 13-20

Moses said to God, “suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘the God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, : I AM WHO I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you’

Exodus 3:13-14 NIV

In an impersonal way, the God of Israel responds to Moses when he asked him his name. Why the efforts to establish a name for a God of sovereign action?

I AM is the phrase-response with which God introduces himself to Moses; showing him that he is not a specific person or a specific name. In today’s realities we are called to look closely at the face of God in the midst of diversity . . . in every action and human face. I AM putting on the ground every attitude that is not worthy of promoting the ethical values of the Kingdom of God.  I AM means to release, accompany, care . . . love. God is in everything and everyone! God’s history and Family! He is Action!

If each human is the representation of the face of God in this world, we are co-responsible for the well-being and harmony of all creation. Love and feel loved; provide rest and care for others; accompany and embrace with joy and hope. It is the most coherent way to be faithful in these times to the God of our ancestors . . . to the God of Moses.

Let’s not waste our energy wanting to name the God of the past, of today and of eternity! Let us live in demonstrating to the world that the great  I AM  lives in us.

 

Prayer: Allow us God, to see your face in our neighbor, and thus love him as you love us. We are grateful for your company and care. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Yo soy…

Éxodo 3: 13-20

Pero Moisés insistió: —Supongamos que me presento ante los israelitas y les digo: “El Dios de sus antepasados me ha enviadoa ustedes.” ¿Qué les respondo si me preguntan: “¿Y cómo sellama?” —Yo Soy el que soy —respondió Dios a Moisés—. Y esto es lo que tienes que decirles a los israelitas: “Yo Soy me ha enviado a ustedes.

Éxodo 3:13-14

De manera impersonal responde el Dios de Israel a Moisés cuando le preguntó cuál era su nombre. ¿Por qué el empeño de establecer un nombre para un Dios de acción soberana?

Yo Soy es la frase-respuesta con la que Dios se presenta a Moisés; mostrándole que no es una persona determinada ni un nombre específico. En las realidades presentes estamos llamados a mirar con detenimiento el rostro de Dios en mediode lo diverso…en cada acción y rostro humanos. Yo soy poneen el suelo toda actitud que no sea digna de promover los valores éticos del Reino de Dios. Yo soy significa liberar, acompañar, cuidar…amar. ¡Dios está en todo y en todos! ¡Dioses Historia y Familia! ¡Es Acción!

Si cada ser humano es la representación del rostro de Dios en este mundo, somos co-responsables por el bienestar y la armonía de todo lo creado. Amar y sentirnos amados; brindar descanso y cuidar de otros/as; acompañar y abrazar con alegría y esperanza; es la manera más coherente en estos tiempos de serle fieles al Dios de nuestros antepasados…al Dios de Moisés.

¡No gastemos nuestras energías en querer nombrar al Dios de layer, del hoy y de la eternidad! Vivamos en el empeño demostrar al mundo el Yo Soy que habita en nosotros.

 

Oración: Permítenos, Dios, ver tu rostro en el prójimo, y asíamarlo como tú nos amas. Agradecemos tu compañía y cuidado. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
