Little things that are barely seen

Matthew 11: 25-27

At that time Jesus said, “I praise you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and reveled them to little children.

For today’s world, there are so many unanswered questions, and so many paths to discover! There is so much mystery to decipher! And only God the creator can calm our uncertainties. Today times run dizzyingly, and humans have forgotten to strengthen what is truly essential: the soul and the spirit.

To what things does Jesus refer? Why reveal them to some and not to others? This is how Jesus praises and thanks God for the particular way in which “these things” are revealed to children. Once again, the Nazarene shares his knowledge about the will of the Father; knowledge and “things” that have nothing to do with the powers of the earth or with the wise and knowledgeable of the law. For Jesus it was necessary to remember that “what is essential is invisible to the eye,” in the eyes of indifference, pride and arrogance and power that humiliates. Jesus speaks of “things” of the Kingdom of God, of those that can only be understood if they are looked at with the eyes of children and understood with the hearts of children. Only the experience of the glorious Kingdom can be revealed to those who are not afraid to dream and act honestly, showing life a smile of joy and hope.

The wonders of the Kingdom will only be revealed to those who have faith in the small things that are barely seen.

 

Prayer:  Lord, we thank you for your wisdom to teach us Jesus as the Truth of your Kingdom of love, joy, peace and justice. Help us to look with your eyes and feel with your heart. Amen.

Las cosas pequeñas que apenas se ven

Mateo 11: 25-27

En aquel tiempo, respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Te alabo, Padre,Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque escondiste estas cosas delos sabios y de los entendidos, y las revelaste a los niños.

Para el mundo actual, ¡Hay tantas interrogantes sin respuestas, y tanto sendero que descubrir! ¡Hay tanto misterio quedescifrar! Y solo el Dios, Creador del Universo, puede calmar nuestras incertidumbres. Hoy los tiempos corren de manera vertiginosa, y el ser humano se ha olvidado de fortalecer lo que verdaderamente es esencial: el alma, el espíritu.

¿Qué cosas refiere Jesús? ¿Por qué revelarlas a unos y no a otros? Así alaba y agradece Jesús a Dios por la manera particular en que se revelan “estas cosas”: a los niños y las niñas. Una vez más, el Nazareno comparte su conocimiento acerca de la voluntad del Padre; saberes y “cosas” que nada tienen que ver con los poderes de la tierra ni con los sabios y entendidos de la ley. Para Jesús era necesario recordar que “lo esencial es invisible a los ojos”; a los ojos de la indiferencia, del orgullo, de la prepotencia y del poder que humilla. Jesús habla de “las cosas” del Reino de Dios; de aquellas que solo pueden ser entendidas si se miran con ojos de niños, y se comprenden con el corazón de los niños. Solo la experiencia del Reino glorioso puede ser revelada a los que no temen soñar y actuar con honestidad, mostrando a la vida una sonrisa de gozo y esperanza.

Las maravillas del Reino solo serán reveladas a aquellas y aquellos que tengan fe en las cosas pequeñas que apenas seven.

 

Oración: Señor, agradecemos tu sabiduría para enseñarnos a Jesús como la Verdad de tu Reino de amor, de gozo, de paz y de justicia. Ayúdanos a mirar con tus ojos y a sentir con tu corazón. Amén.
