HALLELUJAH IN THE RESURRECTION

John 20:1-9

They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.

John 20:9 (NIV)

Hallelujah! Christ is risen!

The God of life, the one who never fails, shows us once again his love. He is risen and with Him, hope returns, the spirit is renewed, the horizon is clarified, and existence is revived.

Today is a day for celebrating, for singing with jubilation, for laughing and for reaching out to those who have no reason for hope. Christ is risen and it is urgent that others are able to feel the significance of this. We cannot keep this Good News to ourselves; the resurrection of Jesus is our path to the fullness of life. It is the certainty of his presence in our midst, the responsibility to carry out his message, and to be always good human beings.

In the middle of so many stressors, living Christ’s resurrection should lift us up and strengthen us to move forward. Today we have a race to run that leads us away from pain and towards the empty tomb, away from apathy and towards enthusiasm for his mission, away from confusion and towards the certainty that God does not abandon us.

Let us live each day the experience of rising from our deaths and renewing our covenant of love with our God.

 

Prayer: Thank you, our God, for renewing hope with your resurrection. Amen.

MARZO 31, DOMINGO

Aniversario de la Iglesia de Guanabacoa

ALELUYA EN LA RESURECCION

Juan 20:1-9

Y es que aún no habían entendido la Escritura, que dice que era necesario que él resucitara de los muertos.

Juan 20:9

¡Aleluya! ¡Cristo ha resucitado!

El Dios de la vida, el que nunca falla, nos muestra una vez más su amor. Ha resucitado y con Él, vuelve la esperanza, se renueva el espíritu, se aclara el horizonte, reverdece la existencia.

Hoy es un día para celebrar, para cantar con júbilo, para reír y llegar a quienes no tienen razón para la esperanza. Cristo ha resucitado y es urgente que otras y otros puedan sentir lo que significa. No podemos quedarnos con esta Buena Nueva, la resurrección de Jesús es nuestro camino a la plenitud de vida, es la certeza de su presencia en medio nuestro, es la responsabilidad de llevar su mensaje, de ser seres humanos de bien en todo momento.

En medio de tantos agobios, vivir la resurrección de Cristo nos debe levantar y fortalecer para seguir adelante. Hoy tenemos una carrera que emprender, una carrera que nos aleja del dolor y nos acerca al sepulcro vacío, nos aleja de la apatía y nos acerca al entusiasmo por su misión, nos aleja del desconcierto y nos acerca a la certeza de que Dios no nos abandona.

Vivamos cada día la experiencia de resucitar de nuestras muertes y renovemos nuestro pacto de amor con nuestro Dios.

 

Oración: Gracias Dios nuestro, por renovar la esperanza con tu resurrección. Amén

SATURDAY, MARCH 30th

REMEMBERING HIS POWER 

Psalm 29:1-11

The Lord gives strength to the people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Psalm 29:11 (NIV)

In silence, let us pray to the Lord, let us remember his death, let us trust in his resurrection.

Even in the most hopeless moments, remembering God’s faithfulness within our lives gives us strength to continue on. Amid pain, stress, or sadness, we must recognize the greatness of God, the power to transform everything, the capacity to console, accompany, sustain and to care.

We can never doubt the greatness of this God of love that never leaves us. The power he gives to his people is not to dominate, attack, nor to feel above others. The power of God is in the ability to love, serve, and support those around us, in the same way that He does in our lives. The power of the Christian people is in sending the world the restorative, conciliatory and hopeful energy that only God gives. Let us bear witness to God’s greatness every day, in every hour through our actions.

 

Prayer: Our God, help us to show your greatness, through the love and humility of our actions. Amen.

MARZO 30, SABADO

RECORDANDO SU PODER

Salmos 29:10-1

El Señor infunde poder a su pueblo y lo bendice con la paz

Salmos 29:11

En silencio oremos al Señor, recordemos su muerte, confiemos en su resurrección.

Aun en los momentos más desesperanzadores, recordar la fidelidad de Dios en medio de nuestras vidas, nos da la fuerza suficiente para continuar. En medio del dolor, del agobio, de la tristeza, necesitamos reconocer la grandeza de Dios, el poder para transformar todo, la capacidad para consolar, acompañar, sostener, cuidar.

No podemos tener dudas nunca de la grandeza de ese Dios de amor que no nos suelta jamás. El poder que da a su pueblo, no es para dominar, no es para agredir, no es para sentirse por encima de otros y otras, el poder de Dios, está en la capacidad de amar, de servir, de sostener a quienes nos rodean, de la misma manera que Él lo hace en nuestras vidas. El poder del pueblo cristiano está en lanzar al mundo la energia restauradora, conciliadora y esperanzadora que solo da Dios. Demos testimonio de la grandeza de Dios cada dia, a toda hora, a través de nuestros actos.

 

Oración: Dios nuestro, ayúdanos a mostrar tu grandeza, a través del amor y la humildad de nuestras acciones. Amén.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29th

I WANT TO BE BRAVE LIKE JESUS

John 18: 1-19

Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”

John 18:4 (NIV)

For some people, being brave means facing aggressions, and not fearing animals, places or dangers.

But bravery is much more than that; it has to do with determination, firmness, seriousness, and honesty. It has to do with defending causes if they are just, without regard to the consequences.

Jesus shows us in this text his character, his courage; he does not hide; he doesn’t allow anyone to stand in front of Him. With determination he says, “I am he” and he knows perfectly well what that means. Pained by the betrayal, he is worried for those he leaves behind, and gathering strength to face what he sees, even so he responds with firmness in front of his enemies.

Sometimes we lack the courage to stand up for what is right, to fight for justice, to confront those who harm and disrespect others. Many times, we remain silent, or we hide for fear of facing consequences, but being Christian means being courageous. It means not being afraid to denounce injustice, to help the excluded, to confront the powers that be and respond, “I am he” when someone demands an explanation.

Let us not be afraid to be instruments of God in the face of all that today threatens the fullness of life.

 

Prayer: Lord, thank you for showing me the path of good. May I always be brave enough to face that which goes against your Kingdom. Amen.

MARZO 29, VIERNES

QUIERO SER VALIENTE COMO JESUS

Juan 18: 1-19

Pero Jesús, que sabía todas las cosas que le habrían de sobrevenir, se adelantó y les preguntó: ¿A quién buscan?

Juan 18:4

Para algunas personas, ser valiente significa enfrentar agresiones, no temer a animales, lugares, peligros.

Pero la valentla es mucho más que eso; tiene que ver con determinación, firmeza, seriedad y honestidad. Tiene que ver con defender causas si son justas, sin importar las consecuencias.

Jesús nos muestra en este texto su carácter, su valentla, no se esconde, no permite que nadie se ponga frente a Él, con determinación dice yo soy, y sabla perfectamente lo que eso significaba. Dolido por la traición, preocupado por quienes deja, aunando fuerza para enfrentar lo que venla y aun asl, responde con firmeza frente a sus enemigos.

A veces, nos falta esa entereza para defender lo justo, para luchar por la justicia, para enfrentar a quienes dañan e irrespetan a otras y otros. Muchas veces quedamos en silencio, o nos escondemos por miedo a enfrentar consecuencias; pero ser cristiano significa ser valiente, significa no temer denunciar injusticias, ayudar a excluidos, enfrentar poderes y responder “yo soy” cuando alguien nos exija explicaciones.

No tengamos temor a ser instrumentos de Dios frente a todo lo que hoy atenta contra la plenitud de vida

 

Oración: Señor, gracias por mostrarme el camino del bien. Permite que siempre tenga la valentla suficiente para enfrentar lo que va contra tu Reino. Amén.
