Valentine’s Day

LOVE FOR SALVATION

Mark 7: 31-37

People were overwhelmed with amazement. “He has done everything well,” they said. “He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

Mark 7:37 (NIV)

This passage narrates the healing of a deaf-mute person, an act that transcends the physical and reveals profound spiritual teachings. The word “efatah” not only refers to openness, but also to the ability to listen and speak.

Children learn to speak by listening to others. That is why those who are born with a hearing disability generally cannot speak well. But if their ears are open, they can learn to speak. The same happens with spiritual things. When our ears are opened to hear from God, our tongue will be untied to praise him and testify to him with our lives.

How many times are we deaf to the needs of others or mute to injustice? In a world full of noise and distractions, this passage reminds us of the need to open our hearts and ears to others by promoting authentic and compassionate communication. God’s love is infinite, we just have to be willing to listen and transmit his message as a means of hope and light.

Prayer: God of life and love, allow us to always be bearers of your message, whether in preaching or in sign language. Amen.

Día del Amor

AMOR PARA LA SALVACIÓN.

Marcos 7: 31-37

…..Todo lo que hace bien, hasta puede hace que los sordos oigan que los mudos hablen.

Marcos 7:37

Este pasaje narra la sanación de una persona sordomuda, un acto que trasciende lo físico y revela profundas enseñanzas espirituales. La palabra “efatá”, no solo se refiera a la apertura, sino también a la capacidad, de escuchar y hablar.

Los niños aprenden hablar escuchando a los demás. Por eso tanto los que nacen con una discapacidad auditiva, generalmente no pueden hablar bien. Pero si sus oídos son abiertos, pueden aprender a hablar.  Lo mismo sucede con las cosas espirituales. Cuando nuestros oídos son abiertos para oír de Dios, nuestra lengua será desatada para alabarle y testificar con nuestra vida de Él. ¿Cuántas veces estamos sordos ante las necesidades de los demás o mudos ante las injusticias? En un mundo lleno de ruido y distracciones, este pasaje nos recuerda la necesidad de abrir nuestros corazones y oídos a los demás promoviendo una comunicación auténtica y compasiva. El amor de Dios es infinito, solo tenemos que estar dispuestos a escuchar y trasmitir su mensaje como medio de esperanza y luz.

Oración: Dios de la vida y amor, permítenos siempre ser portadores de tu mensaje ya sea en predicación o en lenguaje de señas. Amén.
