BEING COMMUNITY

Hebrews 13: 1-8

Let mutual love continue.

Talking about hospitality, being attentive to those who suffer, being faithful to our principles, not extending our hands to greed, are some of the pieces of advice that reach that community that begins its journey of following the resurrected one. However, sometimes it is difficult when we are facing situations of anxiety or division to keep an ear open for words that invite communal constructivity. To effect the better part of Jesus’ teachings we need a common vision of life, and for that we must trust our companions on the way. Both in the early Christian communities and today,  preserving that brotherly love for which this letter urges, is the basis for that faith family into which we need to convert our churches in order to present that witness to every act of a God who cares for each person.  Especially in times of need and burdens as those in which we live, let’s share with deeds of brotherhood the confidence that this Jesus who invites us to the common good is the same today, tomorrow and always.

Prayer: God of life, may we be a church that serves and is built around the needs of your people. May the brotherly love that you teach transform us. Amen.

SER COMUNIDAD

Hebreos 13: 1-8.

¨Hermanos: Conserven entre ustedes el amor fraterno…¨

Hebreos 13.1

Hablar de hospitalidad, de estar atentas/os a quienes sufren, de ser fieles a nuestros principios, de no extender manos a la codicia, son algunos consejos que llegan a esa comunidad que comienza su camino de seguir al resucitado. Sin embargo, a veces es muy difícil cuando estamos ante situaciones de angustias, o división, mantener oído atento para palabras que convidan a la construcción en colectivo. Para hacer eficaz la mayor parte de las enseñanzas de Jesús, es necesaria una visión comunitaria de la vida y para ello debemos confiar en nuestras compañeras y compañeros de camino. Tanto en las primeras comunidades cristianas como hoy, conservar ese amor fraterno al que convida esta carta, es la base de esa familia de fe en la que deben convertirse nuestras iglesias, para poder brindar testimonio en cada acción de un Dios que cuida de cada persona. Especialmente en tiempos de necesidades y agobios como los que vivimos, compartamos con acciones de hermandad, la confianza en que ese Jesús que nos convida al bien común, es el mismo hoy, mañana y siempre.

Oración: Dios de la vida, que seamos una iglesia que sirve y se construye desde la necesidad de su gente. Que el amor fraternal que nos enseñas, nos transforme. Amén.
