EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE FOR ONE WHO BELIEVES!

Mark 9:14-29

“If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

These words of Jesus do not mean that we can automatically get anything we want if we just have positive thoughts. Jesus says that anything is possible with faith because nothing is too difficult for God. We cannot magically get everything we pray for; but with faith, we can get whatever we need to serve Him. The attitude of trust, which the Bible calls belief or faith (Hebrews 11:6), is not something we can obtain without help. Faith is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is not stored like money in the bank, it is a constant process of daily renewal of our trust in Jesus.

Jesus told his disciples they would have to face difficult situations that would only be able to be resolved through prayer. Prayer is the key that unlocks faith in our lives. Effective prayer requires attitude and action. Prayer demonstrates our trust in God when we humbly invite Him to empower us. There is no substitute for prayer, especially in circumstances that seem impossible.

Prayer: Beloved Father, we humbly ask you to strengthen our spiritual lives; arm us in the reading of the word and in prayer. Amen.

¡TODO ES POSIBLE PARA EL QUE CREE!

Marcos 9:14-29

Jesús le dijo: ¿Cómo que si puedes'? ¡Todo es posible para el que cree! Entonces el padre del muchacho gritó: Yo creo. ¡Ayúdame a creer más!

Marcos 9:23-24

Estas palabras de Jesús no significan que podemos obtener automáticamente cualquier cosa que deseamos si pensamos en forma positiva. Jesús dice que cualquier cosa es posible con fe porque nada es demasiado difícil para Dios. No podemos obtener por arte de magia cada cosa que pedimos en oración; pero con fe, podemos tener cualquier cosa que necesitamos para servirle. La actitud de confiar, que la biblia llama creencia o fe (Hebreos 11:6), no es algo que podamos obtener sin ayuda. La fe es un don de Dios (Efesios 2:8-9).  No se almacena como se guarda el dinero en el banco, es un proceso constante de renovación diaria de nuestra confianza en Jesús.

Jesús dijo a sus discípulos que tendrían que enfrentar situaciones difíciles que resolverían únicamente a través de la oración. La oración es la llave que destraba la fe en nuestras vidas. La oración eficaz requiere de una actitud y una acción. La oración demuestra nuestra confianza en Dios cuando con humildad le invitamos a que nos llene de poder. No hay sustituto para la oración, sobre todo en circunstancias que parecen imposibles.

Oración: Padre amado, te pedimos con humildad que fortalezcas nuestra vida espiritual, ejercítanos en la lectura de la palabra y  en la oración. Amén.
