                                                  SIGNS OF THE END TIMES?

                                                           MATTHEW 24:3-28   

                                                  For nation shall rise against nation,

                                                        kingdom against kingdom,

                             and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

                                                                                                                             Matthew 24: 7

My message is not apocalyptic; it doesn’t speak of the end times of which only God has prescience. Since antiquity we know there have been bloody wars, and empires ever assume to be more powerful, oppressing weaker peoples. In Jesus’ time the Roman Empire was practically the ruler of the known world, using its force to achieve dominion. But today in the Twenty-First Century, a period of scientific advancements, of Internet which facilitates easy and rapid global communications, why then are the same barbarous and cruel acts being repeated, or perhaps even worse? The answer lies in that God’s word is being ignored. Generally speaking, instead of gentleness, humility, patience and love one sees high doses of intolerance, arrogance, egotism, greed for power and riches, religious extremism, and terrorism by suicide bombers, even to the point of employing ten year old children to carry bombs. And I ask myself, what God are these people serving?

Brothers, let us carry the love of Christ in our hearts and offer it to our neighbor. We may not be able to change the world, but we will indeed improve our community.

Prayer:  God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, have mercy on the world and all your creation; imbue our hearts with your peace, love, and goodness. Amen.

¿SEÑALES ANTES DEL FIN?

MATEO 24:3-28

Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino; y habrá pestes y hambres y terremotos en diferentes lugares.

Mateo 24:7

Mi mensaje no es apocalíptico, no habla de un final que solo Dios sabe cuándo llegará. Sabemos que desde la antigüedad han existido sangrientas guerras, y los imperios pretenden ser cada vez más poderosos, y han oprimido a los pueblos más débiles. En tiempo de Jesús el imperio romano era prácticamente el dueño del mundo conocido, empleando la fuerza para lograr su dominación, Pero ahora en el siglo XXI, una época de adelantos científicos, de Internet, mediante el cual la comunicación entre los países es fácil y rápida; entonces ¿por qué se repiten los mismos hechos de barbarie y crueldad, y hasta peores?; la respuesta está en que no se pone en práctica la palabra de Dios, en general en lugar de  mansedumbre, humildad,  paciencia y  amor hay en el mundo una alta dosis de intolerancia, soberbia, egoísmo, ansias de poder y de riquezas, el extremismo religioso y el terrorismo hacen atentados suicidas y han usado hasta una niña de 10 años cargada de bombas y me pregunto ¿a qué Dios sirven estas personas?

Hermanos, llevemos el amor de Cristo en el corazón y ofrezcámoslo a nuestro prójimo, tal vez no cambiaremos al mundo pero sí mejoraremos  algo nuestra comunidad.

Oración: Dios, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, ten misericordia del mundo y toda tu creación, deposita tu paz, tu amor y bondad en los corazones. Amén
