A SURE CALL

REVELATION 3:20-22

 Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking;

Revelation 3:20 (NRSV)

            The Lord says, “I am at your door calling.” A call which comes to every corner, to every home, to the door of the powerful or that of the beggar, to the door of those near and those far, to the door of those who see and those who are blind, to the door of those who wait, to the door of those who don’t seem to hear his call because the noise of the city, of consumption, of materialism, and of their own selfishness, prevent them from hearing and feeling his proximity and his call.

            The Lord says, “I am at your door calling.” An actual, precise, concrete call; a call which does not compromise, does not question, which demands of us a reconsideration of our entire life that is profound, dynamic, and serene, of all that we do and don’t do for the world.

            The Lord says, “I am at your door calling.”  A call which frees us, which fills us with jubilation, which opens the path to hope.

Prayer: Lord, we ask that we may always be attentive to your call. Amen.

APOCALIPSIS 3:20-22

He aquí, yo estoy a la puerta y llamo…

Apocalipsis 3:20

Estoy a tu puerta y llamo, dice el Señor. Una llamada que llega a todos los rincones, a todos los hogares, a la puerta del poderoso o del que mendiga,  a la puerta de los de aquí y de los de allá, a la puerta de los que ven y de los ciegos,  a la puerta de los que esperan, a la puerta de los que nunca parecen oír su llamada porque el ruido de la ciudad, del consumo, del materialismo y de sus propios egoísmos, les impiden escuchar y palpar su proximidad y su llamada.

Estoy a tu puerta y llamo, dice el Señor. Una llamada actual, precisa, concreta; una llamada que nos compromete, que nos cuestiona, que nos exige un replanteamiento profundo, dinámico y sereno de toda nuestra existencia, de todo nuestro hacer y no hacer en y por el mundo.

Estoy a tu puerta y llamo, dice el Señor. Una llamada que nos libera, que nos llena de júbilo, que nos abre el camino de la esperanza.

Oración: Señor, te pedimos que podamos estar atentos siempre a tu llamada. Amén.
