A GOOD DAY FOR CHANGE

MATTHEW 11:25-30

I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,

because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent

and have revealed them to infants;

            Appearances are almost always deceptive. Issuing a negative judgment is never good; it is terrible if done without a countering argument. Some people said the earth was flat, but it turned out to be round. Some said that beyond the sea was the abyss or only more sea. Others said that the atom was indivisible, and now we study the possibility of separating protons and electrons.

            We often believe that behind a smile happiness hides, or sadness behind tears. Years ago, I read a poetic composition in which the tragedy of a man who never found happiness was narrated. He consulted his doctor who recommended that his spirit could be lifted by seeing Garrick. He was alluding to David Garrick, the famous English actor who achieved renown for his brilliant acting interpreting works of Shakespeare and his own comedies. According to the poet, the doctor’s surprise was great on hearing the response of the patient. The last verse of the poem: “I am Garrick; change the prescription.”

            Not everything that shines is gold; all the glory of a human being fits in the head of a pin.  Jesus offers you what you seek. Today is a good opportunity for you to put down your burdens and transform your life. Go to Him who waits for you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to change my way of thinking so that I may also change my way of living. Amen.

UN BUEN DIA PARA EL CAMBIO

MATEO 11:25-30

… Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra,

porque escondiste estas cosas de los sabios

y de los entendidos, y las revelaste a los niños…

Las apariencias casi siempre engañan. Emitir un juicio negativo nunca es bueno, es pésimo si se hace sin ningún argumento comparatorio. Unos dijeron que la tierra era plana y resultó ser redonda. Algunos dijeron que detrás  del mar estaba el abismo y sólo había el mismo u otro mar. Otros dijeron que el átomo era indivisible y hoy se estudia la posibilidad de dividir los protones y los electrones.

Muchas veces creemos que detrás de una sonrisa se esconde la felicidad, otros que detrás de una lágrima está la tristeza. Hace años leí una composición poética en la cual se narra la tragedia de un hombre que no encontraba la felicidad. Consultaron a su médico, éste le recomendó que su ánimo podía cambiar viendo a Garrik. El aludido era David Garrik, famoso actor inglés, que alcanzó su renombre por sus actuaciones brillantes interpretando obras de Shakespeare y sus propias comedias. Según el poeta, la sorpresa del médico fue grande al escuchar la respuesta del enfermo, último verso de la composición poética: “Yo soy Garrik, cambiadme la receta”.

No todo lo que brilla es oro, toda la gloria de un ser humano cabe en la cabeza de un alfiler. Jesús te ofrece lo que tanto buscas. Hoy es una buena oportunidad para que dejes tus cargas y transformes tu vida. Ve a Él que te espera.

Oración: Ayúdame mi Padre Celestial, a cambiar mi forma de pensar para así cambiar mi manera de vivir. Amén.
