LET US WORK WITH LOVE FOR THE LORD

COLOSSIANS 3:22-24

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,

as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

            No one in our country can fail to notice the attention being paid to improve the care and treatment of the customer – something that remains to be a reality. What is lacking to make that happen! It seems that in the period that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossian Church there were also analogies to our current situation. The sacred writer urges them to do everything with a full heart.

            Recently I had to do some paperwork in my municipality, and I was surprised by the pleasure that the employees there took in their work. It gave us the impression that what they were doing was with all their heart. Perhaps these people have never heard the biblical exhortation before us today, but even though they hadn’t heard it, how well they put it into practice!

            It would thus be appropriate for those of us who have both the privilege and the responsibility of knowing this passage to ask ourselves if every day we work from the heart as for the Lord, not for a wage nor even as a witness, but in surrendering to the commitment to do it from the heart, as for the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, don’t let the bustle of daily life keep us from being always grateful to you and to those around us. Give us the sensibility to do everything with love. Amen.

TRABAJEMOS CON AMOR PARA EL SEÑOR

COLOSENSES 3:22-24

Y todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de corazón,

como para el Señor y no para los hombres

Colosenses 3:23

Para nadie pasa inadvertido el esfuerzo que se realiza en nuestro país para mejorar la atención y el trato al consumidor, lo cual consigna que aún está por ser una realidad entre nosotros. ¡Qué falta hace lograrlo!

Parece ser que en la época en que el apóstol Pablo escribe a la Iglesia de Colosas también existían analogías con nuestra actual situación. El escritor sagrado recomienda que todo lo hagáis de corazón.

Hace poco tuve la necesidad de realizar unos trámites en mi municipio y me sorprendió con el gusto que trabajaban los empleados de ese lugar. Nos daba la impresión de que todo lo hacían de corazón. Tal vez estas personas nunca han conocido la exhortación bíblica que nos ocupa ahora; pero aunque no hayan tenido el conocimiento que de ella tenemos nosotros ¡qué bien la ponen en práctica! Cabría ahora preguntarnos a los que tenemos el privilegio y la responsabilidad de conocerla, si trabajamos cada día de corazón, como para el Señor; no por el salario ni aun por dar testimonio, sino en la entrega que supone el hacerlo de corazón, como para el Señor.

Oración: Señor, no permitas que los trajines de la vida diaria nos impidan ser siempre agradecidos a ti y a los que me rodean. Danos la sensibilidad para hacer todas las cosas con amor. Amén.
