GOD, THE CENTER OF OUR HOMES

PHILIPPIANS 4:10-20

I can do all this through him (Christ) who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

In a simple house a mother, with interminable and tiring obligations, has chosen a quiet time to hear in her heart God’s voice. She studies her Bible and relaxes her body, her battered spirit is restored, and her soul acquires the serenity it needs for the hours of responsibility and effort ahead.

Why couldn’t this be part of the program of every Christian home? Some will say: “Because the family can’t get together with this frantic life it leads.”

Whether or not you live alone, it doesn’t matter; you are the family and the power of God is working in your life.

Be an instrument of grace for your family. If we all share chores as partners, we can find time to share in these moments of communion with God. Prioritize these moments, be loving with your loved ones, share all chores, and God will work miracles in your home.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your power that works in families. Thank you for the opportunity to take time for meditation and prayer in the home together with the family. May we recognize the need to love you, and to love our neighbor, cultivating solidarity, justice, and prayer in our homes. Amen.

Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece

Filipenses 4:13

En una casa sencilla una madre, rodeada de obligaciones domésticas interminables y fatigosas,  ha escogido un momento determinado en el cual estarse quieta y escuchar en su corazón alerta la voz de Dios. Escudriña su Biblia y siente que descansa su cuerpo, su espíritu maltrecho es reparado y el alma adquiere serenidad para las horas de responsabilidad y esfuerzo que deberá enfrentar.

¿Por qué no puede ser este una parte del programa de todo hogar cristiano? Hay quienes alegan: “Porque ya la familia no se puede reunir con esta vida tan agitada que vive.”

Incluso si usted vive solo o sola, no importa; la familia es usted mismo y el poder de Dios obrando en su vida.

Sea un instrumento de gracia para su familia. Si todos compartimos las tareas en actitud de solidaridad, podemos propiciar que podamos participar de manera equitativa en esos momentos de comunión con Dios. Priorice estos momentos, sea amoroso o amorosa con sus seres queridos, compartan todas las tareas y Dios obrará de manera maravillosa en su hogar.

Oración: Gracias te damos, Señor, por tu poder que obra en las familias. Gracias por la oportunidad de separar tiempo para la meditación y oración en el hogar con toda la familia reunida. Permite que reconozcamos la necesidad de amarte, y amar a nuestro prójimo, cultivando la solidaridad, la justicia y la oración en nuestros hogares. Amén.
