DOUBLE VICTORY
ZECHARIAH 6:1-8
The messenger answered
and said to me, “These are the four winds of heaven
that are going out
after presenting themselves to the Lord of all the earth.”
Zechariah 6:5 (CEB)
Zechariah’s series of
visions began with one that described the care and worry of God for God’s
world; and now this last vision closes the series with the same message. Here the picture presents us with the
victorious power of the God of history against the evil in the world. It is a victory that covers all things; that
is to say, it covers the four corners of the world, the four cardinal points of
the entire world.
The victory over evil
is not an easy task and for many it is impossible. Not one day passes without us stumbling over
news of war and destruction; all of this backed up by avarice and the desire
for power by humans against nations of the whole world. Nevertheless, we trust in God. There is not one area of life that is not an
object of God’s love, part of the reign of God, and thus an object of his final
victory. We cannot say that God is only concerned
about our acts, God is also concerned about the why of what we do.
We are a Church called
by God on one mission. We are called to
testify to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
The double victory of God over the nations of the world and the hearts
of the human beings is a drama presented time and again in the life experiences
of each Christian.
Prayer: Good and gracious God, we pray that the day
of Christ’s victory, with his love, justice and peace, will come soon, being
recognized by the people and nations of the whole world. Amen.

VICTORIA
ZACARÍAS
6:1-8
Y el
ángel me respondió y me dijo: estos son los cuatro vientos
de los

La serie de
visiones de Zacarías comenzó con una que describía el cuidado y la preocupación
de Dios por su mundo; y ahora esta última cierra la serie con el
mismo mensaje. Aquí el cuadro nos presenta el poder victorioso del Dios de la
historia contra el mal en el mundo. Es una victoria que abarca todo; es decir,
cubre las cuatro esquinas del mundo, los cuatro puntos cardinales del mundo
entero.
La victoria
sobre el mal no es tarea fácil y para muchos imposible. No pasa un solo día en
el cual no nos tropecemos con un nuevo anuncio de guerra y destrucción; todo esto respaldado por la avaricia y el
ansia de poder de hombres en contra de naciones de todo el mundo. Sin embargo,
confiamos en Dios. No hay ningún área de la vida que no sea objeto del amor de
Dios, parte del Reino de Dios, y por lo tanto, objetivo de su triunfo final. No
podemos decir que Dios solamente se interesa por los actos que hacemos, también
es motivo de su interés por qué lo hacemos.
Somos una
Iglesia llamada por Dios a una sola
misión. Somos llamados a testificar del Señorío de Jesucristo. La doble
victoria de Dios sobre las naciones del mundo y los corazones de los seres
humanos es un drama presentado una y
otra vez en la experiencia de cada cristiano.
Oración:
Dios bueno, te pedimos que pronto llegue el día en que la victoria de
Cristo, su amor, justicia y paz, sea reconocida por las personas y naciones de
todo el mundo. Amén.
