Presbytery meetings. The Cry from Yara (Start of War for Independence 1868)

HE WHO CALLED US

Matthew 8:23-27

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit that will last, and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.  (NIV)

John 15:16

            It’s happened to nearly all of us that, on some occasion, God says, “Advance somewhere,” and while fulfilling his will obstacles appear in the way that make us doubt. Suddenly we begin to question ourselves if it was really God who called us, and fear comes. Evidently our faith diminishes when beginning to doubt, and many times we end up abandoning the task to which we were called. Then we cry out, “Where is God?”

            Let’s switch the question to this other: Where are you? Who placed you in the boat? Who told you “Come?” In all certainty I tell you that it was Jesus who called you, and it’s he who responds for you.

            The winds only serve to entertain us, to distract. Let’s look to him with security and we can walk upon the waters. We shouldn’t worry, he is here to fortify us when we think we’ll sink.

            Today, God tells us. “Leave your boat, your place of comfort, and give me your hand.”

 

Prayer: Thank you, our God, for allowing us one more day, because you fill us with goodness. I am certain that you are by our side to raise us should we fall. Thank you for giving me the chance of finding myself with you through prayer. Amen.

AQUEL QUE NOS  LLAMO

Mateo 8:23-27

No me escogieron ustedes a mí, sino que yo los escogí a ustedes, y los comisioné para que vayan y den fruto, un fruto que perdure. Así el Padre les dará todo lo que le pidan en mi nombre

Juan 15:16

            “A casi todos en alguna ocasión nos ha pasado que Dios nos  dice: Avanza hacia algún lugar;  y en medio de estar cumpliendo su voluntad, aparecen obstáculos en el camino que nos hacen dudar. De repente comenzamos a cuestionarnos si realmente fue Dios quien nos llamó, y viene el temor. Al comenzar a dudar evidentemente nuestra fe mengua, y muchas veces terminamos abandonando la tarea a la cual fuimos llamados. Entonces clamamos: ¿Dónde está Dios?

            Cambiemos la pregunta por esta otra: ¿Dónde estás tú? ¿Quién te metió en la barca? ¿Quién te dijo: Ven? Con toda seguridad te digo: fue Jesús quien te llamó y es quien responde por ti.

            Los vientos solo sirven para entretenernos, para desenfocarnos. Mirémoslo a Él con seguridad y podremos  caminar sobre las aguas. No debemos temer. Él está ahí para fortalecernos  cuando creemos  que nos hundiremos.

            Dios nos dice hoy: Sal de tu barca, de tu lugar de confort, y dame tu mano”

 

Oración: Gracias Dios nuestro por permitirnos un día más, porque nos llenas de bondad. Tengo la certeza de que estás a nuestro lado para levantarnos si caemos Gracias por darme la posibilidad de encontrarnos contigo a través de la oración. Amén.
