SEEK HIM

Exodus 33:13-23

God made his ways known to Moses; made his deeds known to the Israelites.

Psalm 103:7(CEB)

An entire generation of Israelites contented themselves with knowing work only despite seeing the glory of God daily.  They lived with extraordinary miracles, but there they stayed, they didn’t want any major commitments.

In his first encounter with God, Moses acted this way.  He did not feel trained to do the great task that God sent him to do; nevertheless, as he walked with the Lord, he discovered the importance of walking according to divine will. In Exodus 33:13 we read that Moses asked God: Now if you do think highly of me, show me your ways so that I may know you…And God did.

How many times do we act like the people of Israel in the desert–we want and we cry out for signs and miracles, but we don’t want to commit ourselves to the Lord.

God invites us to climb the mountain, the place of his revelation, to find ourselves with God, not with God’s works, but with God: in the place of the encounter, in God’s light, we are summoned to make decisions according to God’s Word and we can get to know God more every day.  It is a unique privilege that we cannot miss.

Prayer: Good God, forgive me if I have stopped looking for your face, forgive me if I have concentrated more on myself than on knowing you and giving you my praise. Lord, I long to be in communion with you.  In your Name, Amen.

BÚSCALO A ÉL.

Exodo 33:13-23
