IT IS TRUE THAT CHRIST ROSE AGAIN

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

… Christ died for our sin in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NRSV)

            How do  some of you say that the dead are not resurrected? In Corinth, many thought that after death the immortal soul leaves the body and continues to live alone, forgetting its past, abandoning matter and body, reputed instruments of evil. Others thought that everything ends with death and that it is better to settle for the present moment.

            So, Paul reminds them of the Good News. The only event that makes humanity happy: a man has risen and will resurrect us. That is the heart of the Christian message. This is not a story, or a novel, but a fact. The resurrection of Jesus is a fact to which the apostles are witnesses.

            Death entered the world by one man and has been destroyed by another. Christ defeated death! The triumph of humanity goes far beyond universal peace and justice finally achieved among human beings. God will be  all in all and the human being will enter, with Christ, into his glory. He will be transformed, receiving everything that God can give him, which is much more than he could ever imagine or expect.

 

Prayer:  Beloved Father, let us never doubt, give us the faith necessary to trust in you fully. Amen.

ES CIERTO QUE CRISTO RESUCITÓ

1 Corintios 15:1-11

… Cristo murió por nuestros pecados tal como lo dicen las escrituras; que fue sepultado; que resucitó al tercer día como lo dicen también las escrituras…

1 Corintios 15:3-4

            ¿Cómo dicen algunos de ustedes que los muertos no resucitan? En Corinto, muchos pensaban que después de la muerte el alma inmortal sale del cuerpo y sigue viviendo sola, olvidando su pasado, abandonando la materia y el cuerpo, reputados instrumentos del mal. Otros pensaban que todo termina con la muerte y que es mejor conformarse con el momento presente.

            Entonces, Pablo les recuerda la Buena Nueva. El único acontecimiento que hace feliz a la humanidad: un hombre ha resucitado y nos resucitará a nosotros. Ese es el corazón del mensaje cristiano. No se trata de un cuento, una novela, sino de un hecho. La resurrección de Jesús es un hecho del que son testigos los apóstoles.

            La muerte entró al mundo por un hombre y ha sido destruida por otro. ¡Cristo venció a la muerte! El triunfo de la humanidad va mucho más allá de la paz universal y de la justicia por fin lograda entre los seres humanos. Dios será todo en todos y el ser humano entrará, con Cristo, en su gloria, es decir, será transformado, recibiendo todo lo que Dios le pueda dar, que es mucho más de lo que nunca se pudo imaginar o esperar.

 

Oración: Padre amado, permite que nunca dudemos, danos la fe necesaria para confiar en ti plenamente. Amén.
