NOTHING SEPRATES US FROM GOD’S LOVE

Acts 21:10-14

Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”  (NIV)

         It’s known to everyone that tragedies cannot always be foreseen. The unexpected can happen at any moment, and, contrary to some, who are accustomed to assert otherwise, the Christian is submitted to the worst sufferings here on earth. To have faith does not mean being free from suffering. The apostle Paul is a sign of that. He confronted many afflictions for Christ; he was flogged, made prisoner, humiliated. But even so, he was prepared to die for his faith in Christ.

            What is it that made Paul so brave? He bound himself to Jesus; he who had previously been pursuing Christians and had ordered their deaths, now had the security of salvation. Paul knew that Christ’s forgiveness guaranteed him eternal life and he espoused the only truth no one could deprive him of: his faith in Christ.

            Consequently, when anguish arrives, when we are suffering, we need to align ourselves to that which no one can take away from us: our faith. Then, although they may take our lives, nothing and no one will be able to separate us from the love of God.

 

Prayer: I know, Lord, that nothing can separate me from you. Help me to conquer the fear that many times takes control of my life. Amen.

NADA NOS SEPARA DEL AMOR DE DIOS

Hechos 21:10-14

Pero Pablo  nos contestó: ¡No lloren, pues me ponen muy triste! Tanto amo al Señor Jesús, que estoy dispuesto a ir a la cárcel, y también a morir en Jerusalén

Hechos 21:13

            Es sabido por todos que las tragedias  no siempre pueden preverse. Lo inesperado puede suceder en cualquier momento. Y contrariamente a lo que algunos acostumbran a defender, el cristiano está sometido a los peores sufrimientos aquí en la tierra. Tener fe no significa estar libres del  sufrimiento. El Apóstol Pablo es una muestra de ello. Afrontó muchas aflicciones por Cristo; fue azotado, preso, humillado. Pero aun así estaba preparado para morir con motivo de su fe en Cristo.

            ¿Qué es lo que hacía que Pablo fuera tan valiente? Se apegaba a Jesús. Él, que antes había perseguido cristianos y había ordenado su muerte, ahora tenía la seguridad de su salvación. Pablo sabía que el perdón de Cristo le garantizaba la vida eterna y se apegaba a la única verdad que nadie podía robarle: su fe en Cristo.

            En consecuencia, cuando la angustia nos alcance, cuando estemos sufriendo, tenemos que apegarnos a aquello que nadie puede quitarnos: nuestra fe. Entonces, aunque nos quiten la vida, nada ni nadie será capaz de separarnos del amor de Dios.

 

Oración: Yo sé, Señor, que nada puede separarme de ti. Ayúdame a vencer el miedo que muchas veces se apodera de mi vida. Amén.
