BE HAPPY ATTITUDES (3)

Psalm 147:1-6

Happy are people who are humble, because they will inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:5 (CEB)

            The word “meek” does not carry with it the idea of weakness or softness; at a deeper level the meaning of the word used in the Greek covers the power to be emotionally stable, willing to be educated, and friendly.

            Let us remember that “the one who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who is humble will be exalted.”  That is to say, arrogance leads us to the opposite of these confirmed virtues when we speak of peace, measure, patience, reconciliation, knowing how to listen, etc.  When we speak in a moderate tone, without the kind of shouting or offending that results in unpredictable effects, we can be sure that power and strength are on our side so that meekness is produced.

            Therefore, let us develop meekness and this form of inheriting the earth as a part of the earthly Kingdom in which we begin to inhabit the moment we make the decision to follow Christ, our Redeemer, Big Brother, Savior, Friend, and Counselor who accompanies us in our daily walk. We will not be afraid since he is always at our side through his marvelous Holy Spirit.

 

Prayer: Father of all Love, teach us to behave with all meekness, that is to say, with the humility to imitate your son and so, through your Spirit, guide us to guide others on the path of truth and service to neighbor.  Amen.

ATITUDES PARA SER FELIZ (3)

Salmo 147:1-6

Bienaventurados los mansos, porque recibirán la tierra por heredad

Mateo 5:5

            La palabra “manso” no conlleva la idea de debilidad o blandenguería; al profundizar el concepto del vocablo griego, este abarca el poder de ser emocionalmente estable, dispuesto a que se le eduque, amable.

            Recordemos que “el que se enaltece será humillado, y el que se humilla será enaltecido”. Es decir, la arrogancia nos conduce a todo lo contrario de esas virtudes confirmadas cuando hablamos de paz, mesura, paciencia, reconciliación, saber escuchar, etc. Cuando hablamos en un tono moderado, sin gritar ni ofender, que conlleva a efectos impredecibles, podemos estar seguros que el poder y la fortaleza están de nuestro lado por lo que la mansedumbre produce.

            Por tanto, desarrollémosla y de esta forma heredemos la tierra como parte del Reino terrenal en el cual empezamos a habitar desde el momento que tomamos la decisión de seguir a Cristo, nuestro Redentor, Hermano Mayor, Salvador, Amigo, y Consolador que nos acompaña en nuestro diario andar para que no temamos, pues está a nuestro lado permanentemente por medio de su maravilloso Espíritu Santo.

 

Oración: Padre de todo Amor, enséñanos a comportarnos con toda mansedumbre, es decir, humildad para imitar a tu hijo y así, a través de tu Espíritu, guíanos para guiar a otros por el camino de la verdad, y el servicio al prójimo. Amén.
