STEADFAST IN THE STORM

2 Timothy 3:10-17

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it

2 Timothy 3:14 (NRSV)

“Persevere,” “stay strong.” Words that sound beautiful on paper, but in real life weigh as heavily as rocks. Because staying on our feet when everything around us is shaking is no easy task. The questions come without warning: Why does God allow pain? Why did He take the one I loved so much? Why right now, why like this?

Our journey is strewn with these little stones that threaten to make us stumble. They are doubts that whisper, uncertainties that scream, moments when faith seems like a house of cards about to collapse. And yet, it is precisely there, in the midst of the dizziness, that we learn what it truly means to believe.

Because believing is not living without questions, but trusting in spite of them. It is remembering, when everything hurts, what we once learned and what convinced us: that God is good, that his plans are for good, and even if we do not understand the path, we can trust the One who leads us.

Today, like Timothy, we are called to persevere. Not in perfection, but in trust. Not in the absence of doubts, but in the certainty that the One who taught us continues to sustain us. Let us be instructed by his word, serve with love, and walk steadfastly toward that kingdom of truth and justice that one day will be fully established.

Prayer: God, thank you for watching over us and guiding us along the right path. Help us to remain steadfast in your Word and not lose heart. Amen.

FIRME EN LA TORMENTA

2 Timoteo 3:10-17

Persiste tú en lo que has aprendido y te persuadiste, sabiendo de quién has aprendido

2 Timoteo 3:14

"Persiste", "sigue firme". Palabras que suenan hermosas en el papel, pero que en la vida pesan como rocas. Porque mantenernos en pie cuando todo tiembla alrededor no es tarea sencilla. Las preguntas llegan sin avisar: ¿por qué permite Dios el dolor? ¿por qué se llevó a quien tanto amaba? ¿por qué justo ahora, justo así?

Nuestro caminar está sembrado de estas piedrecitas que amenazan con hacernos tropezar. Son dudas que susurran, incertidumbres que gritan, momentos en los que la fe parece un castillo de naipes a punto de derrumbarse. Y, sin embargo, es precisamente ahí, en medio del vértigo, donde aprendemos lo que significa creer de verdad.

Porque creer no es vivir sin preguntas, sino confiar a pesar de ellas. Es recordar, cuando todo duele, aquello que una vez aprendimos y nos persuadió: que Dios es bueno, que sus planes son para bien, aunque no entendamos el camino, podemos confiar en el caminante.

Hoy, como Timoteo, estamos llamados a persistir. No en la perfección, sino en la confianza. No en la ausencia de dudas, sino en la certeza de que Aquel que nos enseñó sigue sosteniéndonos. Instruyámonos en su palabra, sirvamos con amor, y caminemos firmes hacia ese reino de verdad y justicia que un día será plenamente implantado.

Oración: Dios, gracias porque tú nos cuidas y nos llevas por caminos de rectitud. Ayúdanos a seguir firmes en tu Palabra y no desfallecer. Amén.
