International Children’s Day

SHOW US YOUR SALVATION

Psalm 91

When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.

Psalm 91:15-16 (NRSV)

We reach a point in our lives when our anguish overwhelms us; this feeling is normal, and it happens to all of us in one way or another. When we face a cruel, unjust, and challenging reality, a lump forms in our throats, and we urgently need someone to untie it so we don’t suffocate. That someone is God; let us call upon Him in prayer and worship, let us call upon Him with a life dedicated to service and kindness, and then He will answer our pleas. Feel His constant presence in your joys and sorrows.

In the midst of our anguish, He makes Himself present through His love and mercy, which lead us to peace; all these virtues will embrace our very being and never leave us. We will see Your salvation fulfilled when we are able to stop focusing on the bad and, instead, with a grateful heart, see, O God, all that You have done, are doing, and will do in our lives.

Let us help others so that they may emerge from their distress and see that God is great, compassionate, and responds when we call upon Him.

Prayer: Drive out, O mighty God, from within us all that causes us anguish and prevents us from beholding the beauty of your presence. Show us your salvation, that our joy may be complete. Amen.

Día Internacional de la Infancia

MUÉSTRANOS TU SALVACIÓN

Salmo 91

Me invocará, y yo le responderé; Con él estaré yo en la angustia; Lo libraré y le glorificaré. Lo saciaré de larga vida, Y le mostraré mi salvación.

Salmos 91:15-16

Llegamos a un punto de nuestra existencia en que la angustia es mayor que nuestras fuerzas, esa sensación es normal y a todos de una forma u otra nos sucede. Cuando vivimos una realidad cruel, injusta y desafiante se nos hace un nudo en la garganta y necesitamos con urgencia que alguien lo desate para no asfixiarnos. Ese alguien es Dios, invoquémosle en oración, adoración, invoquémosle con una vida entregada al servicio y la bondad, entonces Él responderá nuestras súplicas. Siente Su presencia constante en tus alegrías y tristezas.

En medio de nuestras angustias Él se hace presente con su amor y misericordia que nos conducen a la paz, todas estas virtudes se abrazarán a nuestro ser y nunca se alejarán. Veremos tu salvación cumplirse, cuando seamos capaces de no enfocarnos en lo malo, sino con un corazón agradecido, que podamos ver, oh Dios todo lo que has hecho, haces y harás en nuestras vidas.

Ayudemos a otros para que puedan salir de la angustia y vean que Dios es grande, compasivo y responde cuando le invocamos. 

Oración: Expulsa, oh Dios poderoso de nuestro interior todo lo que nos angustia y no nos deja contemplar la hermosura de tu presencia. Muéstranos tu salvación para que nuestro gozo se complete. Amén.
