WE BELIEVE IN A LIVING GOD

Mark 12:24-27

He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.”

Mark 12:27 (NRSV)

Jesus was teaching through a parable when the Pharisees and Herodians, who were annoyed, came to question him in order to trap him with his own words. They wanted to create a conflict between Jesus and the Roman government, so that they would appear innocent while the government would get its hands dirty by persecuting an innocent man for opposing Caesar. “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s,” was Jesus’ famous response. Then the Sadducees, who do not believe in the resurrection, asked him about this topic. Jesus teaches the truth of the resurrection: we will live because He lives. We will be like the angels in heaven.

Sadly, in our lives we will encounter people who test us to harm us; never let adversity overcome you. Remember in whom you believe and His power. Never be a tool for doing evil against your neighbor. Let us be an example of the living God who dwells in our hearts.

Let us believe in a living God, who is from eternity to eternity. A God who has no beginning and no end. A God who promises us that same eternity if we have faith in the Messiah. All who believe in Jesus will never experience spiritual death; rather, their bodies will rise from the graves to sing psalms, together with the angels, for all eternity. Today you can be resurrected if you believe; today you can rise from the dead and have the abundant life that God offers.

Prayer: We love you, God; you are alive and will never die. May this truth instill in our hearts the certainty that we can overcome all temptations and trials. O God, raise us up; lift us from the tomb so that we may live with hope and joy. Through Jesus Christ, amen.

CREEMOS EN UN DIOS VIVO

Marcos 12:24-27

Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino Dios de vivos; así que vosotros mucho erráis.

Marcos 12:27

Jesús estaba enseñando por medio de una parábola, cuando los fariseos y herodianos molestos fueron a preguntarle para sorprenderlo con sus propias palabras. Ellos querían crear un conflicto entre Jesús y el gobierno romano, así quedaban inocentes y el gobierno se ensuciaba las manos con un inocente por oponerse al Cesar. “Dad a César lo que es de César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios,” fue la famosa respuesta de Jesús. Entonces los saduceos, que no creen en la resurrección le preguntaron sobre este tema. Jesús enseña la verdad de la resurrección, viviremos porque Él vive. Seremos como los ángeles del cielo.

En nuestras vidas tristemente tendremos personas que nos pongan a prueba para hacernos daños, nunca dejes que la adversidad te venza, recuerda en quien crees y su poder. Nunca seas útil para hacer el mal contra tu prójimo. Seamos ejemplo del Dios vivo que mora en nuestros corazones.

Creemos en un Dios vivo, que es desde la eternidad y hasta la eternidad. Un Dios que no tiene principio y final. Un Dios que nos promete la misma eternidad si tenemos fe en el Mesías. Todos los que crean en Jesús nunca verán la muerte espiritual, sino que sus cuerpos se levantarán de los sepulcros para cantar salmos, junto con los ángeles hasta la eternidad. Hoy puedes resucitar si crees, hoy puedes levantarte de la muerte y tener la vida abundante que Dios ofrece.

Oración: Te amamos Dios, estás vivo y nunca mueres, que esta verdad cree en nuestros corazones la certeza de poder vencer todas las tentaciones y pruebas. Oh Dios, resucítanos, levántanos del sepulcro para vivir con esperanza y alegría. Por Jesucristo, amén.
