Calling Upon the Divine Name

Psalm 145

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Psalm 145:18 (NRSV)

In the experience of faith, the believer feels that God is closer when He is called upon, when His name is invoked in search of help. In this search, there is one indispensable condition: sincerity.

God cannot be invoked out of habit, or by believing that it works like an act of magic. What matters is a sincere heart seeking mercy, humbly, yet with the certainty that only God can fill our existential voids, of every kind.

Today there can be no reason whatsoever why we should not continue to invoke God’s presence among us. If we turn to Him with faith and trust, the Lord will hear our prayer and show His mercy. Let us await His answer in God’s time; His Kairos is not always our own, for He knows best which moments and circumstances are propitious for pouring out His abundant blessings upon those who call upon Him with all their hearts.

Prayer: We praise You, Lord, for Your greatness, for Your love toward Your sons and daughters, for listening to us and answering us when we call upon You. May Your Name be blessed, today and forever. Amen.

Invocar el Nombre Divino

Salmos 145

“El Señor está cerca de los que lo invocan, de los que lo invocan con sinceridad”.

En la experiencia de fe el creyente siente que Dios está más cerca cuando se le llama, cuando se invoca su nombre en busca de ayuda. En esta búsqueda hay una condición indispensable: la sinceridad.

A Dios no se le puede invocar por rutina, o creyendo que funciona como acto de mágica. Lo importante es el corazón sincero en busca de misericordia, humildemente, pero con la certeza de que solo Dios puede llenar nuestros vacíos existenciales, de toda índole.

Hoy no puede haber razón alguna por la que no continuemos invocando la presencia de Dios en medio nuestro. Si acudimos a Él con fe y confianza, el Señor escuchará nuestra oración y mostrará su misericordia. Esperemos a la respuesta en los tiempos de Dios, su Kairós no es siempre el nuestro, pues Él conoce mejor qué momentos y qué circunstancias son las propicias para derramar sus abundantes bendiciones sobre los que le invocan de todo corazón.

Oración: Te alabamos Señor por tu grandeza, por tu amor hacia tus hijos e hijas, por escucharnos y respondernos cuando te invocamos. Sea tu Nombre bendito, hoy y por los siglos. Amén.
