WITH GOD WE WILL DO WONDERS

Psalm 60

“With God we shall do valiantly”

Psalm 60:12a

We are living in times of true agony. Uncertainty and precariousness have taken root in our daily lives. Sometimes when we pray, we say, like the psalmist, “Lord, you have shown your people hard things,” or we hear phrases like “Lord, how long?” The social crisis cuts deep and affects us not only materially, but emotionally and spiritually. At times, the battles are also within ourselves–and who are our enemies? We need not look for them outside; our enemies could be hypocrisy, prejudice, and a lack of hope.

However, after that cry for help, God places in our hearts the certainty of his presence. If at this moment pain, loneliness, wrongdoing, worries, and problems give your prayer a tone of agony and despair, channel your emotions, express them, but also remain alert to God’s signs, because as the psalmist concludes, “With God we will do marvelous things.”

Prayer: God of mercy and forgiveness, thank you for your patience when we let out a cry of despair in our prayer. Help us in our daily struggles; allow us to walk without letting go of your hand and with the certainty that in your kairos you always answer us. Through Jesus we ask this. Amen.

CON DIOS HAREMOS MARAVILLAS

Salmo 60

“Con Dios haremos maravillas”

Salmo 60:12a

Vivimos tiempos de verdadera agonía. La incertidumbre y la precariedad se han instalado en nuestro día a día. A veces al orar decimos como el salmista "Señor, has hecho ver a tu pueblo cosas duras", o se dejan escuchar frases como “Señor, ¿hasta cuándo?”. La crisis social nos cala hondo y nos afecta no solo materialmente, sino emocional y espiritualmente. En ocasiones también las batallas son con nosotr@s mism@s ¿y cuáles son nuestros enemigos? No hay que buscarlos afuera, nuestros enemigos pudieran ser la hipocresía, los prejuicios, la falta de esperanza.

Sin embargo, luego de ese grito de auxilio, Dios pone en nuestro corazón la certeza de su compañía. Si en estos momentos el dolor, la soledad, las malas acciones, las preocupaciones y los problemas ponen un tono de agonía y desesperación en tu oración, canaliza tus emociones, exprésalas, pero también mantente alerta a las señales de Dios, porque como termina el salmista diciendo "Con Dios haremos maravillas".

Oración: Dios de misericordia y perdón, gracias por tu paciencia cuando en nuestra oración soltamos un grito de desesperación. Ayúdanos en nuestras luchas cotidianas, permítenos caminar sin soltar tu mano y con la certeza de que en tu kairós siempre nos respondes. Por Jesús te lo pedimos. Amén.
