IN MY FATHER’S WORK

Luke 2:41-51

“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”

Jesus, although he was just a child, replied to his parents, “did you not know that I must be about my father’s business?” These words remind us that our lives find purpose and direction when we seek to do God’s will.

Today, many people live feeling rejected, unloved or that they do not belong anywhere. In communities marked by lack of acceptance, this verse invites us to look ahead and discover that there is always space for us in the Father’s house. It does not matter how invisible we feel, God reminds us that we are valuable, and that our identities are affirmed in Him.

Jesus teaches us that being involved in the Father’s work means reaching out to those who suffer, offering words of hope and opening our hearts to welcome them in. In a world that often excludes, the church is called to reflect God’s heart: a home where no one is left out, where all are loved.

Let us reflect: what does it mean to be involved in the Father’s work? Perhaps it means listening to someone who needs companionship, forgiving, or simply remembering that you are loved.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live each day seeking your will. May my words and actions reflect your love toward those who feel alone or rejected. Teach me to be present in your work, embracing others with grace and acceptance. Amen.

EN LOS ASUNTOS DE MI PADRE

Lucas 2:41-51

¿Por qué me buscaban? ¿No sabían que tengo que estar en la casa de mi padre?

Lucas 2:49

Jesús, siendo aún un niño, respondió a sus padres: ¿No sabían que en los asuntos de mi Padre me es necesario estar? Estas palabras nos recuerdan que nuestra vida encuentra propósito y dirección cuando buscamos estar en la voluntad de Dios. 

Hoy, muchas personas viven sintiéndose rechazadas, sin amor o sin un lugar donde pertenecer. En comunidades marcadas por la falta de aceptación, este versículo nos invita a mirar hacia arriba y descubrir que en la casa del Padre siempre hay espacio para nosotros. No importa cuán invisibles nos sintamos, Dios nos recuerda que somos valiosos y que nuestra identidad se afirma en Él. 

Jesús nos enseña que estar en los asuntos del Padre significa acercarnos a quienes sufren, dar palabras de esperanza y abrir los brazos para incluir. En un mundo que a menudo excluye, la iglesia está llamada a reflejar el corazón de Dios: un hogar donde nadie sobra, donde todos son amados. 

Reflexionemos: ¿qué significa estar en los asuntos del Padre? Tal vez sea escuchar a alguien que necesita compañía, perdonar, o simplemente recordar que eres amado.

Oración: Señor, ayúdame a vivir cada día buscando tu voluntad. Que mis palabras y acciones reflejen tu amor hacia quienes se sienten solos o rechazados. Enséñame a estar en tus asuntos, abrazando a los demás con gracia y aceptación. Amén.
